30 minutes to get back into this thread. FR. Is utterly useless when it counts the most. I am frustrated because I do donate a lot here and these events are important to me to share with you all.
This has been a great debate. I agree, if Fox says Obama did well, I will watch them even less than I already do.
Any word on new servers?
Mods need to do three things for the next debate. 1lock out all other threads2allow no gifs3stop posters from posting ROMNEY IS EXCELLENT every 50 posts
The last two FReepathons included higher donation goals to upgrade FR's servers before the debates and elections. Guess there is still work to be done in this area. (Speaking as a dollar-a-day contributor)
I've been on this thread too, all the way from a lone hillside in rural upstate New York, on backwoods DSL, and I haven't had delays more than perhaps a minute, usually more like 20-30 seconds, and often less. Under these circumstances, quite acceptable.
It's always easy to blame "the website server" at the other end. But it could be any number of other factors in between, that caused the trouble you experienced.
Lot's of folks posted similar comments last night. JimRob posted this apology late in the evening:
Sorry about the downtime tonight. Dont know what happened there other than our system became overloaded. Still dont know when John is planning on installing the new equipment, but hoping it is soon. This was very disappointing.
