A local news anchor took the air Tuesday to blast a viewer who attacked her for being overweight.
Jennifer Livingston of WKBT in La Crosse, Wis., slammed the viewer on-air after he wrote in to complain that Livingston wasn't "a suitable example for this community's young people, girls in particular" because of her size.
"I was surprised indeed to witness that your physical condition hasn't improved for many years," the viewer wrote in the email titled "Community Responsibility."
"I leave you this note hoping that you'll reconsider your responsibility as a local public personality to present and promote a healthy lifestyle."
The letter quickly went viral after her husband, fellow WKBT anchor Mike Thompson posted it to his Facebook page Friday, telling followers that it made him "sick to his stomach."

she’s not too bad to tell you the truth.
Bonitas tetas....um, sonrisa.
Careful now, guys - dem BigAssas be the new minority and be demandin deys rights.
Seriously, though - I have pins in my heel from an old skiing + military injury and must spend $180 per pair of custom made shoe inserts so I don’t walk with a limp. You oughta see the tribe of grossly overweight middle aged couch potatoes (mostly female) in the waiting room every time I’m there. I commented on this to the technician - his answer: “Every day I want to scream at these fools: Loose some fu*kin’ weight, get off your big butt, get out and exercise, and you’ll be fine.”
The poor guy dedicated his career to help the handicapped. The last time I was there he was waiting on a 300#, 5’2” slob.
Her response is a classic fat person response.
She is quick with words and low on actions.
Is she blaming a medical condition?
Is her weight George Bush’s fault?
Is she waiting for Obama to fix her fat?
I agree with Rochester.. like my women fit...would never date or marry a chubby or fat women no matter how nice they are personality wise..
The problem we have in todays society is fat acceptance and it should not be that way..no reason for any person to be fat..very unfair to their spouse if they were thin before marriage and got fat afterwards..would be serious grounds for divorce in my book.
Your post was the first post to make me chuckle in over two years...this used to be a pretty funny place...thanks for bringing it back.
You know, wee paws for station identification.

Outta the park, baby, outta the park!
Si senor, muy muy caliente. Univision does it right when it comes to their anchorwomen.
I admit Ms. Livingston is not awful looking. In Rochester NY local news there is a chubby news anchor named Norma Holland...I have met her...totally full of herself, and overweight to boot.
Noté la sonrisa primero, por supuesto. ;-)
If there truly was an emailer. Something about this email seems suspicious to me.
So, Edward R Murrow, Ernie Pyle, and Walter Cronkite were never seen as role models? I disagree.”
...they were role models but they didn’t have a responsibility to stay fit for the sake of their audience.
She’s a little plump but is healthy looking and good looking. Lots of those skinny gals have mean driven looks and don’t look too healthy
But they were fit and slim! You can count MALE fat news anchors on one hand throughout television history.
and no bald men? (not shaven, bald)
Ernie and Murrow were chain smokers. Were they supposed to quit for the sake of the audience?
What a pathetic drama queen. Just suck it up, lose the Twinkees, and keep it to yourself. I think she feels “empowered” to yap about it because her husband is the anchor and her brother is a Hollywood actor (Ron Livingston). But “BULLYING”? Seriously. Just pathetic.
