..............Incredible as it may seem to most outside observers, Mitt Romney is actually what currently passes for a moderate in todays Republican Party.....
Romney was sold in the teeth of opposition from a significant section of the Republican grass roots as the pragmatic choice, the compromise they had to make with ideology to secure victory. And when he loses, those activists are going to go as vengefully crazy as Cains Rhode Island Reds.
Anyone who doubts the reaction of the GOP stalwarts to Romneys impending defeat should bear in mind this single, if chilling, fact. Most of them still think hes going to win. They genuinely believe the polls are fixed. They seriously think the surge in support for Obama is nothing more than an "MSM" conspiracy. Some of them clearly even believe the good Lord himself will appear in the spin room at the University of Denver next Wednesday.
And when non of these things turn out to be true, the reaction will be truly terrible to behold. It will be like what happens inside one of those doomsday cults the morning after they all wake up and realise the world hasnt ended after all. First the shock, then the denial, then finally the anger and retribution.
The pinko, Marxist, Obama-loving side of me cant wait for the fireworks to begin. But theres another part of me thats quite disheartened at the thought of the last few moderate elements of a once great political party vanishing beneath a tidal wave of post-election Tea Party hysteria. The majesty of Lincoln, boundless optimism of Reagan, dignity of McCain swept from the pages of history by a bunch of moon-colonising, carnivorous chicken-touting, hurricane-summoning fruit loops....

Dear Lord in Heaven, I pray that you are right.
But I do think you are, I also believe Romney will win.
But man, I AM NERVOUS! I HAS ANXIETY >_>
More like a question of love or lust.
There’s always Intrade if you are that confident.
I was not on this forum for about 4 years during that time as I went back to college full time.
Regardless, this election is very different. A known marxist is in charge, whether or not everyone wants to admit it.
If the Republicans take over the people at the top of the demoncraps will implode upon each other. Without us having to lift a finger.
Now, where do I get this type of information? Simple common sense.
If you remember the old cowboy movies where all the crooks are hold up in their hideout. At some point after they have succeeded at attaining the loot they begin to turn on each other.
With this bunch they will blame each other for not doing their fair share to turn America into the planned marxist utopia.
It is not deja vu. Because, this has never happened before and will never ever have to happen again.
“The Republicans will massacre each other after Mitt Romney loses
And the problem with that is.....what?
This election is nothing but a choice between the nanny state and the Nanny State....
I don't think Romney will screw us on this so much as ignore us. I think these will be issues he will dance around and avoid like the plague.
Obama, on the other hand, will use his last 4 years to imprint as much of his social agenda as possible into the law. It will be his second most lasting legacy he can impose on the US. The only thing worse will be the US Debt he managed to ring up in 8 years.
I’ll bet you $10 that Obama wins and hope to lose my $10. Are you on?
You are on, PM me.
But I do wish you had the faith of a mustard seed and bet the whole $1000.00.
As I have been telling my friends and family members for the last couple of months. At least since it was obvious that Obama was going to be the nominee for the democrats. Obama is going to lose in a landslide to McCain, and his choice for VP has given that landslide coattails, or maybe more appropriately petticoat-tails. This is going to happen because of the famous Bradley Effect.
.....
So sit back and enjoy the show, this is going to get good! I havent even considered the Clintoon Effect. You know? The one that says Bill & Hillary are not going to allow this guy to win. Thus they will do what they did for Gore and Kerry, just enough to make it look good, but not enough to help him win. I will be enjoying the look on the medias face when McCain wins in a landslide and we get the House back.

Drugs?
Do a test, and see if it works.
next time you are at the store, go off about the prices, and demand that the people replace the communist in the WH.
The response you get will tell it all.
I would bet no one says anything. If anything people will either give you a thumbs up or shy away. However, if you did that in 2008, you would have had quite a few who would give you dirty looks or even begin challenging you why Obama needs to be given a chance.
Or go off loudly about gas prices next time to fill up a tank. Be loud so others can hear you. Talk about the way gasoline prices were at or below 2.00 when this commie wacko took office. Talk out loud about the need for us to drill, baby drill, and how we need to get rid of the environmental wacko in the white house.
Again, no one will get mad, some may agree, but almost all will silently agree.
That's one of the sillier things I've seen posted here in along time
Well said...... :o(
How do you find those old posts? It certainly gives us some perspective. I was actually confident in 2008 that McCain would win based on all the posts here that “the poll internals are skewed!” Interesting that you managed to match post and poster from 2008 to 2012, and the content was almost identical.
Republicans will fight with each other, if Romney wins. The Party was saturated by the social libertines with their own kind long ago, just as the Democrat Party was.
It’s been a general national slide toward moral bankruptcy. Subgroups of government employees, pensioners, NGOs and contractors are already beginning to fight against each other for shrinking funding immediately preceding the so-called austerity period (probably next year). What remains of the true private sector (true: that is, not connected with government) has nearly nothing to confiscate/rob.
Notice how i did not bet any money back then? Plus I failed to understand that the people voted for Michael Jordan and now they know they got Farrakhan.
I was so shocked when I learned that Obama received a sizable portion of the white evangelical vote. Well, now he is not an unknown.
Just like Americans, especially Christians, turned on Tiger Woods, so to have they turned on Obama.
One more thing, when you say no to GOD, not once, but three times.... Well God will not be mocked. Not only will Romney win big, but the Democrats will lose the Senate and possibly another 10 to 20 house seats.
So, if you are so sure I will be wrong again, then take me up. Put up or shut up!
$1000.00, I am willing to lay money on the line I can ill afford to lose, but I am so sure this time I am willing to bet.

“We may not like Romney, but at least we can hang our hat on the fact that a true businessman will be in charge at a time when we really do not need a politician. “
Businessmen tend to make lousy Presidents, historically. They get in office and find others important to the process can’t be ordered around.
I don’t know what will happen. We’ll know soon enough.
What makes you think I haven’t?
This is an open bet I have to help bring out the truth. All those on the left, know deep down inside that Obama is finished because their own friends and relatives have given up on him.
If Wisconsin has not convinced anyone, then maybe nothing will, and it is these people I am confronting with the challenge of put up or shut up bet.
I have bet many on Googles G+, and even there I have not been able to get one liberal to take me up on it.
