Washington is notorious for dropping news it doesnt want scrutinized too closely on the last day of the work week. So last Friday was a convenient time for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) to release a statement about the Obama Administrations conflicting accounts of the attack that killed the U.S. Ambassador to Libya.
The ODNI statement appears intentionally vague on exactly what it knew when and who was told. It does little to address concerns that the Presidents senior supporters seemed more concerned about minimizing criticism of the White House than addressing the threat of transnational terrorism.
The question remains: Why did senior officials issue contradictory and wrong accounts of what happened during the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi?

As the poem said, "What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive."
Obama's cry: GM is alive, Osama is dead brought the alqueda response....We are ALL Osamas...
And they're all alive and well and moving...
Yesterday Fox reported that the Embassy did NOT have security upgrades however CNN reported (when they reported on Libya) that the Embassy just had quite a bit of security upgrades in the months leading up to the attack. Just curious what others think of that.
Every leftie who complained about GWB saying "Bring it on!" are now holding Obama accountable for the GM/Osama meme, aren't they?
Hello...
(crickets)
Guess not.

I think the Obama Administration is continually lying and the MSM is obediently repeating the lies.
Winning/dominating/persuading/shutting down the opposition -- [shrug] I'm not sure that they see telling the truth as a valuable contributing factor in this effort.
If Obama did really cook up a story scapegoating a “Copt Christian” and America’s constiution as the problem/offender causing the ambassador’s murder, he not only advertised a youtube video with low views to the mob “street” directing and harnessing their rage, he named both Christians and Americans as the offenders and made them targets for the Muslim mob’s wrath.
That is raaaacis, treasonous or something. His government does not want to fight jihad. They are jihad. By coincidence, Obama’s homeland insecurity, DOJ and DOD have named Americans who support the constitution, Christians and Veterns all domestic terrorists.
detective~ :” I think the Obama Administration is continually lying and the MSM is obediently repeating the lies.”
I also beleive that the administration stalled a response while they looked for a “plausable explaination” (and ran an ‘in-house poll’ to see what would fly . )
After 10 days of lying to the American public about ‘the movie’, the administration and its ‘talking heads’ don’t want the American public to know the extent of losses , and therefore are in no hurry to get investigators on the ground in Libya .
The longer they can draw this story out , preferably beyond the election , the story can have no conclusion.
And, all of this subterfuge, grudging elaborately complicated defense, and deluded refusal of truth will be met with “he’s a brother (in this case, Muslim, media or otherwise), we gotta stick with what we gots.”
I believe that IF Obama gets reelected (I don’t think he will) there is enough information to impeach him? Wouldn’t this be an impeachable offense? What about a recall election?
If this is not an impeachable offense then violating the War Powers Act would be. Right? Wasn’t this argued in the House last year?

Just one more bit to add, the mission went sour because the terrorist didn’t expect Woods and Doherty to fight back. They were not supposed to be there.
Ok we needed marines on the ground to fight in Syria. The attack in Libya gave us permission under the War Power Act. I just read this online. http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2012/10/2012101163758660881.html
