Protester outside of Romney rally explains how Obama gives all minorities free phones and that is why they should vote for him. Cleveland Ohio, September 26, 2012
It's illegal only if done by a private citizen or a candidate for office. When done by an office-holder, it's perfectly legal.
Just remember, an election is an advance auction of stolen goods.
The government subsidy $9.25 a month. Seriously of all the support payments, I don't know why people get so emotional over phones. Yes poor people probably do need a phone for emergencies. And would you hire someone who didn't have a phone?
That said, there is a fraud problem, that they are addressing albeit a little slow.
What a shame. Wondering if they can upgrade. I see a LOT of folks that normally wouldn’t be able to afford the cheapest plan, yet they have a smart phone. I work and I don’t allow myself the luxury of a cellphone.
>>This is why Obama is likely to win, and why we are doomed as a nation.
No, the people should see this tape. The shameful dependence should get more to vote and the 47% argument doesn’t seem so unreal.
People like this one are “institutionalized”, so to say.
They will NEVER, EVER get off of the Democrat Plantation.
no hope + no work ethic + no education meets ‘govment handouts...
Dead is dead. It doesn’t matter where. National parks have signs that say ‘DO NOT FEED THE BEARS!” for a reason............
You need to elect me President. My policy would be simple—if it gets spent in the inner cities, I’d axe it.
“But how do you expect poor to survive?” “Don’t you care about minorities?’
“Next question.”
I’ve had it with parasites.
For the life of me, I don’t understand why there aren’t better controls. I don’t think there is any lack of government audits.
If the guy with the video camera can catch all this fraud, why can’t the auditors? I know part of it, is the unwillingness to share data, and to run stings.
Hmmm. The count says 317 views, but 814 likes, and 286 dislikes.
YouTube, which is owned by Google, which gave major money to The Kenyan, is just doing what Leftists do: everything they can to support Dear Leader.
They can’t let this go viral, so the count must be suppressed. Barring that, the clip will probably be taken down soon.
Sounds like Flip Wilson doing Geraldine.
IF Romney’s campaign is really 10% down in battleground states I would propose that he run against this woman. Call a press conference, show some video clips of this women, a similar videos and say THIS is what I’m talking about. The media can pretend it doesn’t exists but THIS is what is going to take America down if we don’t stop it now. What this will do is create a buzz among the A-political, it will get people who are usually outside the realm of politics to take sides. Run against this woman
For emergencies, any “poor” person can buy a “Tracfone” or something similar. They are frequently on sale for as little as $9.95. There is no monthly fee and there is no fee for 911 calls.
If a “poor” person does get a job and their employer is long winded on the cell phone... they can get a discount if they buy more minutes at a time or buy a more expensive phone or they can pay by the month with no contract. There are a number of competing services, in most cases they are quite competative and actually use the same towers as the major providers. It is the free market in action there is simply no need for a government “subsidy”. It is just a waste.
Our fellow FReepers would be far more effective if they learned the truth and used it to teach rather than attack. Chances are that the woman in the video could have gotten the same phone under Clinton and again under Bush. She isn’t getting anything special under Obama that she couldn’t have gotten before and she’ll still be able to get it if Romney is elected.
Its rooted in a longstanding federal program that’s grown unchecked for decades.
“Anything I could say would most certainly be racist.”
UH-OH! That’s RACIST! :-)
If there is a cheaper option out there, then by all means the government should be looking at it.
But I get the impression that you would deny the poor even a one-time subsidy of $9.95. Nice. /s
