TOLEDO, OhioMitt Romney projected confidence Wednesday that he's going to win Ohio, in spite of a recent spate of polls showing him trailing President Barack Obama in this crucial swing state.
"I'm going to win Ohio," Romney told NBC's Ron Allen in an interview. "I'm going to become the next president."
In a separate interview with ABC's David Muir, Romney downplayed several recent polls that suggest he's losing ground to Obama in Ohio and other battleground states. "Polls go up, polls go down," Romney told ABC. But, he added, he was "absolutely convinced" that people would support his campaign after watching his first debate with Obama, scheduled for next week.
Romney's comments came as he wrapped up a quick bus tour in Ohio with a rally at a convention center herevowing he will create new jobs and turn the economy around "when I become president."
Fueled by the cheers of more than 3,000 supporters, Romney repeatedly slammed Obama, linking him to increased gas priceswhich he claimed had doubled under Obama's watchand accusing the president of wanting to raise taxes on small businesses.
"He wants to raise the tax rates on them. That'll kill jobs," Romney said. "I'm gonna lower the tax rates. He wants to raise them. I'll create jobs. He'll kill 'em."

I thought WHY the hell didn'tt you in the first four years as you promised four years ago?
He did...1 million bureaucrats manufacturing rules, regulations and unfunded mandates.
so second verse same as the first
I agree. If the GOP is as incompetent here as they were in 2008...no way. Plus he has got to make a dent in the choke hold of Cuyahoga county(Cleveland). Personally, I think it is a sham and shame that Cuyahoga can swing the state...and thereby the country's election.
I’ve been in Ohio a long time. It has always been cities versus suburbs at this point in time, we have the Ohio house , the Ohio Senate, the governor, the Secretary of State , the Treasurer, and the most recent US Senator. all are Republican and somewhat conservative. In the past Ohio has been a 5050 state. It is now also. Nothing has changed. No way it is other than neck and neck. Ohio is always determined by ground game.
I agree! FINALLY!!! Romney needs to bash 0dumb0 non-stop, 24/7, and never let up. I hope & pray & contribute for a Romney win, but if for some reason the dumb ass sheeple put this RAT bastard commie muzzzzllim pig 0dumb0 back into office, at least Romney needs to go down fighting instead of passively accepting it.
Go Romney!!! Beat the living sh_t out of 0dumb0 for the next 6 weeks!!!
That is good news!
That would be an improvement in every way, and especially from an appearance standpoint! However we need her in the House even more so, just to combat the plantation mentality of the black dumb-ass caucus. (NOT including Allen West in that description, of course)!
At this point in Obama tenure people have pretty figuired out the type of person is...which means the people who are on the fence or leaning one way or another...are not going to be swayed by the media waking up and reporting on scandels...which have become second nature in DC
So those people need to hear a message about the future not a rehash of scandels the media barely reports on...
The GOP-e would never allow it. She didn't go to the "right" schools, and doesn't drink with her pinky raised. Besides, she's [whispered voice] conservative!
I think Mitt will clobber O’booboo in the debates. There is just so much material to use to bash the guy.
I will make sure to watch you! I am a big fan of David Barton as well. My husband and I are very pleased with ‘The Blaze’ network. We have been watching it daily—including the first part of ‘The Project’ last night. I even downloaded a couple of the books from the authors who were featured on the special last night.
BTW, I don’t have any polling numbers, LOL, but I have been hearing a lot of anti-B.O. rumblings around my little part of Ohio—not just within my circle of friends and acquaintances, but at the grocery store, at PTO meetings, you name it. Being coal country, we don’t want to see our friends and neighbors in the mining and power plants getting shut down. I love seeing those coal barges go by when I look out my front window and as I drive along State Route 7. ;)
Since it is yahoo, by 'more than 3,000', should I assume 8,000 or so? I mean, that is more than 3,000. And what is this 'he claimed had doubled?' It is a verifiable fact. So easy to look up, even a journalist can do it. That's like 'claiming' the sun rises in the east, or 'claiming' that Germany lost World War II, or 'claiming' that the SEC is the best football conference. All proven, scientific or historical facts.
“Has a candidate of any party ever publicly announced that he was going to lose?”
You asked, so I’ll answer.
I think McCain pretty much did that in 2008 when he said that Obama would “make a good president” (paraphrasing)...
Thank you for the ping to LS’s information.
Good point, see my post #45.
So, exercising my constitutional right NOT to vote makes me a loser? BS
“..The Project...”
Basically it’s Glenn Beck’s expose on the radical Muslim Brotherhood, and their infiltration into American government at all levels, and Obama and others’ complicit behavior with it.
It’s pretty damn unnerving how much ground these b*stards have gained here, with the help of their liberal allies.
Based on documents that were found by our guys in 2003-04 in raided Terrorist safe houses in Iraq and Afghanistan - their own words and plans.
Glenn Beck has been all over this on the Radio.
I had a good feeling about Ohio, now this confirms it.
Hard to see how little Zanesville and the other small towns outvote the big three “C” cities plus Toledo, Dayton, and Youngstown.
Mitt can clobber Obama in debate, but Obama has already been declared the winner of all three debates.
