A national CNBC poll finds President Barack Obama holds a commanding lead over Mitt Romney on the key issue of who would be better for the economy over the next four years.
Obama gets that nod even though Americans, by overwhelming margins, believe the economy is worse now than it was four years ago when Obama's term began.
Our latest CNBC All-America Economic Survey of 800 American adults across the nation shows Obama with a nine-point lead over Romney, 43 percent to 34 percent, on who would do a better job on the economy in the future.
At the same time, 55 percent say the economy is worse off than it was four years ago and just 22 percent think its better. Seventeen percent say its about the same.

LEFTIST MEDIA! Not liberal
Liberal is a warm fuzzy word.
Leftist is a truth about our media and people know that leftists are jackbooted.
I’m not one of the Obama crowd, but I’ve posted repeatedly for months that neither candidate gets what needs to be done to fix the economy.
Neither candidate talks about restoring the protective trade tariffs that were in place since the Founding Fathers.
Romney wants more free trade agreements instead of fixing and repairing the damage done by the ones we’ve already got.
Romney/Ryan want to cut people’s support to force them back to work, before there are jobs for them to take. That’s going to result in more foreclosures and more business failures.
Obama wants to put more people on the government payroll. And to bail out more industries when they fail, instead of raising the tariffs to prevent their failures in the first place.
It’s kind of a wash between the two. Romney would help us marginally on energy more than Obama. But Romney would hurt the economy and conservative’s reputation by the premature cutting of people’s safety net. Meanwhile neither candidate addresses trade.
I say Romney would help us “marginally” on energy because while he supports cutting regulations on energy, he wants a two year approval process for same site nuclear reactors. Which means he is not likely to approve nuclear reactors until his second term. Meanwhile U.S. oil production is up anyway despite Obama.
In fact, time to cram that into a tagline somehow.
Copy that 5X5!!! They have nothing but manlove for BS.
Because Repubs refuse to engage the democrats, that is why this is believable. Why does Pelosi and Reid spew their hyperbolic garbage, which is always posted on this site for ridicule, but Repubs take this mythological “high road” of moderate yellow “belly-ism”?
Repeat a lie/line often, which hyperbole and disingenuous proclamations are cried out, and don’t be surprised if people start to believe all the lies.
I would take President Hector Elizando Camacho over our current one any day of the week.
Yeah, but, see, I wasn't joking.
I don't think it was an accident. In fact, I bet it was a pen name. They are coming right out and telling us, outright. They don't care.
They don't care we know of their agenda. They don't care if they lie. They don't even care if they get caught.
I guarantee you this will be the new logo at, for example, MSNBC.
He’s gonna tax the rich until we are prosperous again, doncha know?
I’m voting for “Not Sure.”
Has the economy gotten better or worse in the last 4 years?
Answer-yes
Who do you trust to fix the economy?
Answer-The idiot that made it worse of course.
800 American adults... reached by landline while sitting on their couches on Monday afternoon looking for their EBT cards...
Seriously.
My only complaint about these uberliberal polls, is why the hell do they include even ONE republican? Couldn't they get really great numbers for Obama if they simply polled it like this: D-87 / R-0 / I-13?
I mean, comon boys, make a fist.
Mr. Obama couldn’t close an umbrella.
He’s not qualified to run a 7-11.
Yeah, he has done such a great job fixing the economy the past 3-1/2 years.
If “0” was a white republican there would be rioting in the streets by now screaming about jobs and the economy. This country has a sickness - mentally and physically.
Zactly!
I wish there were a way that I could remove MSNBC from my cable; I never watch that crap and I don’t like the idea that I may be paying them royalties, no matter how small!
Lies-man is an Obama butt-boy, pfft.
