Bengahzi is NOT the Embassy,that is in Tripoli where Stevens office is. No one has asked or answered why Stevens was in BenGahzi in the first place with the only security being a Muslim Group providing it and Ultimately aiding in His Murder.
The former Navy seals were working for a Different agency,what agency? I dont know,possibly CIA,Stevens could also have been a CIA Officer,he brokered the deal to get the Rebels the Guns to depose Ghadafi,Could he have been there to try and retrieve those weapons since the rebels who dumped Ghadafi were Al Queda?

So, what is the "official" reason that Stevens was in Benghazi (terror central) on 9/11 with no security, no advance team, no escape plan. Are they hiding a CIA op? I think so. Why? To what end? The op is blown, or maybe they don't know that.
