Your point well taken - you expressed my sentiment better than I did.
Enlargement shows some guy's face in the background. (The script doesn't help.)
The speculation that I found intriguing was the idea that Stevens was already dead and the redness of the upper torso was caused by strangulation -- possibly a lynching -- rather than suffocation from smoke inhilation. But I'm not a medical person.
Post 142 - his left arm is bent and he doesn’t appear to be in rigor mortis...it looks like he was alive in that picture.
