"I don't think we were caught flat-footed," says Dianne Feinstein on U.S. attack in Libya
CNN ^ | 9/12/12 | Erin Burnett

Posted on 09/12/2012 8:04:20 PM PDT by ThunderSleeps

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee told CNN's Erin Burnett that the comments should not have been made without knowing the facts. "It was a pre-emptive strike on what somebody thought might be coming, but wasn't sure," Sen. Feinstein said. "It's exactly what shouldn't be done and that is make a comment before you even know what the situation is."

Because of these liberal fascists Like DiWi, there is not one Obama appointed ambassador whose life is safe, anywhere in the world.

I am not sure whether that makes me happy or sad. I love it when Obama ambassadorial appointees must cringe in fear due to Obama's arcane policies. But I am simultaneously outraged at the desecration of US sovereignty, and Obama's response to it.Obama is every bit as fascist as Mussolini or the others from history. Its time to wake up to that as a fact.We must never again elect a Saul Alinski president. Good Read: http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/05/barack_obama_the_quintessentia_1.html

Let us see, the President of United States declines to take intelligence briefing for the week leading up to 9/11, the enemy strikes at two places on 9/11 of all dates, kills four Americans including an ambassador, burns a American consulate to the ground, invades an American embassy, desecrates the American flag, and we are supposed to believe that the administration was not caught flat-footed?

However, we are supposed to believe that Romney committed a blunder by complaining before he knew all the facts?

Has it occurred to anyone at the Huffington Post that the president might have known the facts if he had spent his time listening to briefings rather than attending fundraisers?

So, Di, you weren’t caught flat-footed. Then that must mean that you just deployed our Ambassador (a relatively new appointment) into the heart of an ambush on purpose?

Actually, I think the admin knew perfectly well what was going to happen. I think they served up that hapless ambassador like a trussed chicken to habibi Zawahiri.

They need crises, and servings in the muslim pot.

The fact that the first three words were “I don’t think”, speaks volumes....she knows damn well they were caught flat-footed.

Hello...isn't that what Obama did?

Guess this is another Obama "teachable moment"...

I find that I feel the same way about this. As I speculated earlier, the ambassador who was killed has been referred to as Obama's "point man" in his illegal and counterproductive war against Kaddafi. This ambassador played a large role in putting Muslim terrorists into power in Libya and letting them and all their riotous pals appropriate all the weapons that were floating about. So there was a certain poetic justice in his being murdered by the murderous thugs that he helped put into power.

On the other hand, we simply cannot put up with violations of our sovereignty like this. Yet Obama has repeatedly done so, and as a result the terrorists are getting bolder and bolder. What do they have to lose? Nothing. They can kill our people and burn down our embassies, and all Obama will do is apologize. It is an invitation to our enemies to do as they like, since there will be no penalty.

State knew there were problems on 8/27/2012!
Guess Obama missed the memo!

Travel Warning
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE
Bureau of Consular Affairs
PrintEmail
Libya

August 27, 2012

The Department of State warns U.S. citizens against all but essential travel to Libya. The incidence of violent crime, especially carjacking and robbery, has become a serious problem. In addition, political violence in the form of assassinations and vehicle bombs has increased in both Benghazi and Tripoli. This Travel Warning replaces the Travel Warning dated September 22, 2011, and notes the resumption of full consular services to U.S. citizens on August 27, 2012.

Libyans cast ballots on July 7 in elections deemed to be free and fair according to election observers. Libya’s General National Congress replaced the Transitional National Council in August 2012 and will lead the country until elections are held on the basis of a new constitution. Despite this progress, violent crime continues to be a problem in Tripoli, Benghazi, and other parts of the country. In particular, armed carjacking and robbery are on the rise. In addition, political violence, including car bombings in Tripoli and assassinations of military officers and alleged former regime officials in Benghazi, has increased. Inter-militia conflict can erupt at any time or any place in the country. Seven Iranian Red Crescent officials were kidnapped July 31 in Benghazi by local militia members, and as of the date of this warning, they have not been released. There have also been several reports of militias briefly apprehending and detaining foreigners due to perceived or actual violations of Libyan law. The Embassy’s ability to intervene in such cases remains limited, as these groups are neither sanctioned nor controlled by the Libyan government.

U.S. Embassy Tripoli resumed full consular services for U.S. citizens in Libya on August 27, 2012.

U.S. citizens traveling to, or remaining in, Libya should use extreme caution and limit nonessential travel within the country, make their own contingency emergency plans, enroll their presence in Libya through the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), and provide their current contact information and next-of-kin or emergency contact information.

The Embassy’s website, includes consular information and the most recent messages for U.S. citizens in Libya. U.S. citizens in need of emergency assistance should call 091-220-5203 within Libya or 218-91-220-5203 if dialing from outside of Libya.

For information on “What the Department of State Can and Can’t Do in a Crisis,” please visit the Bureau of Consular Affairs’ Emergencies and Crisis link. Up-to-date information on security can also be obtained by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll-free in the United States and Canada or, for callers outside the United States and Canada, on a regular toll line at 1-202-501-4444. These numbers are available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, Monday through Friday (except U.S. federal holidays).

For further information, U.S. citizens should consult the Department of State’s Country Specific Information for Libya. Yeah, I guess obama thinks Romney "acted stupidly" ... Hmm, now where did I hear that phrase before? Oh yeah, from hussein himself commenting on a situation he knew nothing about.

Of course, acting without information would seem to be de rigueur for obama and his cohorts in crime. Go ahead, skip the National Security briefings in the week leading up to 9/11... obama - what an utter train-wreck as a President.

According to the report, the attack is being planned by Global Jihad, the group suspected of killing 16 Egyptian border guards in Sinai on August 5.

Al-Masry Al-Youm reportedly obtained a copy of the September 4 letter, sent to all Egyptian security sectors, warning that Sinai- and Gaza-based Global Jihad cells were planning attacks on the two embassies.

I guess this letter was passed on to the Prez, but he missed the daily briefings. DOH

So much for 9.11:

If Bush had left our embassies unprotected on 9/11 and this happened, he would be getting publicly crucified right now. I agree with the earlier poster about the coverage. There is nothing left to watch on TV anymore.
