"I don't think we were caught flat-footed," says Dianne Feinstein on U.S. attack in Libya
CNN ^ | 9/12/12 | Erin Burnett

Posted on 09/12/2012 8:04:20 PM PDT by ThunderSleeps

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee told CNN's Erin Burnett that the comments should not have been made without knowing the facts. "It was a pre-emptive strike on what somebody thought might be coming, but wasn't sure," Sen. Feinstein said. "It's exactly what shouldn't be done and that is make a comment before you even know what the situation is."

What amazes me are two things. Note, not the predictable political finger-pointing.

One is that the obama embassy immediately apologized for offending anyone and causing (?) the attack. WTF!? I mean seriously, W-T-F! By these buffoons' logic rape victims should apologize to their rapists for appearing desirable and vulnerable. The apology literally made me want to throw up.

Two, Feinstein isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, is she? By claiming "oh no, we weren't caught flat footed" that just makes the obama administration look that much more inept. Ok Dianne, if this isn't getting caught flat footed, if this is what you-all call being prepared...wow. I'd hate to see you guy get caught by surprise.

We weren’t prepared or protected, we didn’t see it coming, but by golly, we weren’t caught flat footed.

I’ve been on the Earth quite a long time and on Free Republic since the late ‘90s. I thought I was beyond all surprises but I have never been more disgusted in the media than I am today.

An Ambassador is KILLED and their headline is “We’re Aghast That Romney Talked About It”.

I’m simply gobsmacked.

Doesn’t she know nobody’s allowed to talk about it until Obama has a press conference?
I guess MSNBC didn’t get her the memo.

Yes. A genetically inherited trait . . . unfortunately.

You make two great points. (In fact I’m going to use your rape analogy with my liberal relative.)

A third point would be that the reporters writing this stuff down didn’t question Diane about not being caught “flat footed.” You would think the obvious question following that statement would be along the lines of,

“So you knew of the impending attack and the response that was given was the best you had? So what you are saying is under this administration is that with the best preparation and knowledge, ambasadors and government employees abroad can expect to die when the shit hits the fan?”

You're right. Thunderstruck, stunned, ... words fail me. An ambassador is murdered in cold blood and hussein's minions' first thought is to apologize to the perpetrators!?

Seriously, wars have started over this kind of thing. As a caller to one of the AM radio programs said, we should immediately cut off all aide to Libya and pull all our people out. That seems like a no-brainer to me. I'd only send our people back a battalion of Marines at a time.

His second thought was to blame Romney.
