Days after the Obama administration announced drastic cuts in the number of U.S. troops participating in military exercises with Israel, U.S. military planes landed in Egypt for joint exercises with Egypt's military forces.
Named "Eagle Arena 2012," the exercise marks the first military interaction between the U.S. and Egypt since Hosni Mubarak was president. It also means our military is officially in joint training exercises with military personnel from a country strongly influenced by the Muslim Brotherhood (Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi is a prominent member of the Muslim Brotherhood).

If you don’t know “how this is a bad thing”, you must live under a rock and are therefore hopeless.

Seems like a great way to get to know the military in charge in Egypt, their capabilities and perhaps infiltrate them a bit. Now if the exercises were with Russia and Egypt I might have some concern.
