The Democratic Party may be getting a fair amount of attention this week — and not only because the political movement is hosting its national convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. Another point of focus has already been the contents — or the lack thereof — present in the 2012 Democratic Party Platform.
Earlier today, we told you that the document fails to mention Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, a proclamation that was previously touted by the party. And now, in an even more shocking revelation, CBN News is reporting that the Democrats have removed mentions of “God” from the document as well.
This is a departure from the past. In 2008, the platform read (emphasis added), “We need a government that stands up for the hopes, values, and interests of working people, and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential.”

Why should anyone be surprised that the mere mention of the word “God” would send shivers down the spine of the Democratic faithful? After all, the same platform says it’s a good idea for two men to get married; the public needs to pay for all abortions; there is no demand that Hamas stop terrorism against Israelis; the public must pay for a healthcare policy it manifestly rejects; the Catholic non-profit community must fork up money to pay for abortion-inducing drugs, etc.
The Obama administration has a “God problem.” On several occasions, President Obama has omitted the words “by their Creator” when citing the Declaration of Independence. He has also erroneously said that the national motto is “E Pluribus Unum”; it is “In God We Trust.” Now the Democratic Platform has deleted the word “God” when discussing our “God-given potential.” In 2008, the Platform spoke to the issue of having a government that “gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential.” The italics, which I added, have been deleted from the 2012 Platform.
The Catholic League appreciates honesty and transparency, even when it signifies something pernicious. On this basis, we commend the Democrats for being so straightforward.
Fox news has Durban in fits over this. He keeps filibustering , accusing Bret Baier who just calmly asks him why the word God was taken out.
Nerves are fraying when the truth is exposed.

No loaded questions, no questions answered, total active (aggressive) defense, and pretty clear indication of how the OZero convention plans to deal with FOX.
The bottom picture is very offensive, and in face, blasphemous.
As a Catholic I am very offended by that picture — can it be removed?
That should have been “in fact” blasphemous.
I am surprised they had any mention of God for the past dozen years, at the least.
Maybe I’m naive, but this is shocking. The party’s leadership isn’t even pretending anymore. I realize that politics is someting that is left to us mortals, but a simple acknowlegement wouldn’t hurt any reasonable person, regardless of their beliefs or lack of. Now we know what we’re dealing with. All that’s left is to get the news out and the MSM won’t be doing it.
The reason it is blasphemous is that the cross and Greek lettering in the nimbus are used only in icons of Christ, 'ο ων, "the existing one" is the Greek version of the name God gives to Moses during his encounter with God in the burning bush, and is used to depict the fact of Jesus's Divinity. However much tumblindice may think that Obama regards himself as God, or wants to be worshipped in place of God, or is an antichrist, it is offensive to traditional Christians to communicate that belief with a blasphemous picture.
Please remove the picture, or if need be the entire post. tumblindice is welcomed to repost the PeoplesCube graphic of Obama saying stupid things about Jesus and Joseph if he really thinks it contributes to the discussion.

No, the picture from PeoplesCube of Obama saying stupid things about Our Lord Jesus Christ and St. Joseph the Betrothed in post 14 (which you’ll note I suggested you repost after post 14 is removed, if you think it really contributes to the discussion) and the pictures in the post to which I’m replying (which probably also should be taken down, since they serve no purpose but to be offensive) are merely offensive.
The faux “icon” of Obama is blasphemous for the reason I stated in post 34: it visually asserts that Obama is God by applying the Greek version of YHWH to him. Whatever administrator has the power do so should remove it. Let the calendar-selling nitwits in Charlotte commit blasphemy if they want to. Free Republic, America’s exclusive site for God, Family, Country, Life & Liberty conservatives, as the header on the Forum describes the site, should not be rendering blasphemous pictures, not even, as I noted in post 34 if you mean instead to assert that Obama puts himself in the place of God or is an antichrist.
