Embedded systems are harder to penetrate if not impossible, so the devices are not a worry. However, taking control of the systems would be my worry. Those control systems can command a relay to trip, etc.
That was extremely educational. Thank you.
Maps of fiber are available to anyone who wants them.
Soviet Armor in WWII typically operated in company (~10 tanks) and later platoon (3-4 tanks) sized units due to a shortage of radios - only the command tanks had comms, and they used signal flags to communicate with the rest of the unit.
Optimal? Heck no.
Effective enough? Well, they managed to keep Moscow and Stalingrad from being overrun/cut off.
The point being, 1 person in 10 having working comms could be more than effective enough to command a mob, and more.

This came in over the transome today:

“It fall to us then, to make sure that the right eggs get broken.”
.....and to be eternally vigilant.
After watching that, a big difference is the prevalence of armed citizens in other parts of the country, as compared to CA. Our two states, GA and FL, have about 5%-6% of the population with CCW licenses. That translates into *big* numbers of people carrying.
If I managed to be stupid enough to get hemmed in, and had guys with bricks running at me, I’d be shooting. I expect you would be, too. There are a lot like us. Plenty of people have been watching events of that nature over the last 20 years, even though they’ve been downplayed in the media. It’s part of the reason CCW numbers are so high.
I really think any events that got started would be short-lived in free states. Places like CA, NY, MA, IL? Well, that’s a very different thing.
What you do not realize is that you are dead wrong. There are not millions of black people in this country who believe they are owed a living. There is a system carefully crafted by corrupt racist politicians who enforce their will on the black community and keep them in perpetual bondage. When those conditions end freedom and dignity will return to black citizens who now live as bonded serfs.
Great essay Matt!
Cool your jets, book boy.
Obama the community organizer tried his best to enable the rabble, and the best he could do was the wimpy OWS shock troops.
Obama the communist wants a Marxist Revolution in America. Be rest assured that the CIA and FBI have made the US Military at the Pentagon aware of Obama’s every hair-brained scheme, as well as ALL of Obama’s advisors’ schemes.
Cool heads prevail in the US Military, ask anybody who has been in the US Military.
Write your next book on how the Social Security, TSA and other non-military Federal Agencies are stockpiling Ammo for the Final Fast and Furious Flaunting of the Feared Obama Rifles.
“Cool your jets, book boy”?
“Cool heads prevail in the US Military, ask anybody who has been in the US Military”?
You appear to be a long-time FReeper, and yet you are apparently clueless about who you are dealing with there.
Precisely. Conflicts based on conflicts are merely the perpetuation of hollow grievances. You are speaking out of sentiment, not intellect.
The potential conflict envisioned by the author has nothing to do with race, faith, ethnic or political concerns. He is positing a ridiculous position, namely, when the checks stop the slaves will revolt.
In the first place the checks stopped 15 years ago when welfare recipients were required to work. There was no revolt, only an increase in people moving from dependence to independence.
In the second place beggars do not revolt when people stop dropping coins in their cups. They get help in the form of a job or a better grift.
There will be no riots when the anointed one loses. There will be a sigh of relief from black citizens that the madman who has saddled them with his ugly image is gone.
Go f yourself, gray-haired b!tchdog.
My, my! You ARE a gifted, literate author!
Just ignore them. Thanks for the work and post. The cube was just another level in the rabbit hole. It helped me immensely to think beyond conventional bias. BTTT.
