By Mr. Curmudgeon:
Are you feeling lucky? Well, are you, punks? Inspired by Clint Eastwood's Republican Convention soliloquy to an empty chair, representing the vacant years of the Obama presidency, many have been inspired to emulate Eastwood by declaring Monday (formally known as Labor Day) "Empty Chair Day."
As you may recall, the action hero of such film classics as "Dirty Harry" and "The Outlaw Josey Wales" used an empty chair as a prop to address our failed president. "We own this country," Eastwood said to the chair, "Politicians are employees of ours ... and when somebody does not do the job, we've got to let them go."
And Eastwood's idea has caught on.
I saw a photo posted on the Internet that shows a lone chair sitting on a front lawn. On it rests a sign that reads, "Labor Day has been cancelled due to lack of jobs. Monday is now Empty Chair Day. Put an empty chair in your front yard. Thank you, Clint, for bringing this to our attention."
On Facebook, a graphic artist took inspiration from Frank Shepard Fairely's iconic 2008 Obama poster, emblazoned with the word "Hope," and substituted a chair where the president's face once beamed ... oh, and the word "Chair."
In yet another contribution, a photo shows an empty chair with an empty suit dangling nearby.
So, go ahead, make Clint's day ... Empty Chair Day.

WHAT???
There’s no embracin’ goin’ on here ..
BTTT
(known as the "Rat")
That one made me LOL.
Thanks for your comment on the landscape.
Its kinda gotten over grown and looking ratty. Between the triple digit temps and my focus on the back yard —those plants and mother nature just keep doing what they’re supposed to do! The hummers are happy and that is all that matters to me. :)
That photo isn’t the one that showed in my preview or what I saw when it posted! The one I saw was full screen —had to scroll from side to side and was the pre cropped version.
Now its showing the way I worked all day to get photo bucket to do it... (but its not what I saw earlier).
I think Photo bucket was having some issues today.
Shouldn’t thursday be empty chair day.
I’m just saying that if Clint joined FR, he’d be zotted pretty quickly when the rest of his views were known, just not the ones involving a chair.

I’ve got Dish Network, they dropped AMC a couple months ago and it’s still not back. I’ve been watching Breaking Bad on a crappy live stream that goes in and out.
I believe that between now and the election,
FReepers must make EVERY MONDAY
“Empty Chair Day” ... and cap it off with the first weekend of November being “Empty Chair Weekend”.
Having the chairs out every day would become boring, and people would stop noticing them, but if we do it more sporadically, they will catch folks’ eyes. In addition, such a movement could grow viral. We can lead this movement, as we led other movements in the past.
Seems to me you had to purposely dig pretty deeply to get to those flagrant lib talking points, when Clint’s speech and appeal clearly contained no focus on them.
But, punch away ...if you have ulterior motives, if you’re a stealth lib or troll, and subtle or not, it’ll eventually be revealed and appropriately dealt with. We didn’t fall off the turnip truck last night .. ;)
Yeah...and AMC is saying Comcast subscribers should invite their Dish Network friends over to watch AMC programming.
I’ll trade you Breaking Bad for Damages.
Can you switch to DirecTV?
I forgot all about Damages. Still good?
I might switch to Directv or cable.
I haven’t Damages it since they pulled it from FX.
“I might switch to Directv or cable.”
Yeah...
