He spent his whole life looking out for only himself. I really don’t give a hoot what happens to him now. Prayers are not in order from my side of the table.

Those praying for Arlen Specter in his hour of need should also remember Holly Maddux and her family in their prayers - they are still suffering from what Mr. Specter and his client Ira Einhorn put them through.

Depite Spector’s absolutely self-centered, unprincipled political career, I was inspired by his last battle with cancer, and his positive approach to the treatment. I wish him as little suffering as possible in the course of events. Cancer is nasty, and I don’t wish the worst aspects on any one. I have little respect for the man, but only a horribly evil person deserves the later stages of most cancers.

The man has done a lot of evil. But Christ teaches us to pray for people. Even the evil ones. Where there is life there is hope of salvation through Christ.
Indeed, PRAYERS UP!

If you can't say something good about somebody, don't say anything at all.
That's why I have nothing to say about Sphincter.

Apparently mindful of the Roman saying about speaking ill of the dead some are getting in their shots before Specter put on the wooden kimono.

Lost my father to it February and I wouldn’t wish it on my arch enemy. That being said I hope if he succumbs to it that it takes him quickly, when it comes to cancer quality of life beats out quantity any day of the week towards the end.

Enough with these nasty posts. Its not Hitler who is dying. Its Arlen Specter. Anyone who thinks he is such a bad person that we should be happy about his death or that he should “burn in Hell” has completely lost perspective.

Where’s all that arrogance now Arlen? In just a matter of a few short years, you’re name will be forgotten. When somebody asks “what is an arlen spector/” most wil reply with, “I think its some sort of measuring device or something.”
later jerk.

I am just shocked at some of the comments. As a conservative and 14 veteran of the FR, I can not distance myself enough from these comments. I have read similar postings from liberals on ‘mainstream” boards (ex. NYT, CNN) when a conservative dies or is on his deathbed. That only got me to despise and disrespect liberals even more than already did.I have a borderline arrogant belief that we are better people then the left. The comments here only make this case much more difficult to prove.
Believe me, I thoroughly disagreed with the man's politics. Yes, he, along with hundreds of others, epitomized what is wrong with politics But we are talking about a father, a husband and most importantly one of God's creations. If we really believe in Christ (yes I am definitely questioning the faith of those who are celebrating condition of this man) then we HAVE to pray for him.
Now flame away if you must but don't expect me to respond.
