Sarah Palin says Americans need to dump “the status quo” presidency of Barack Obama in order to free themselves from the “hope-ium” he’s been peddling since his 2008 campaign.

She does have a way of putting it, doesn't she??? Palin, you keep up the straight talk! "Hope-ium" is inducing apathy, and apathy is destroying individual freedom!

As I posted yesterday, the people must be jolted into understanding the choice of 2012, for the immediate and long-term consequences are enormous, and time is short for a course correction.

We have the same choice which faced the colonists in 1776:

Liberty for ourselves and future generations

Or,

Slavery to coercive government power

This is the choice.

So-called "progressives" may frame the debate differently, they may use clever semantics to disguise and cloak the kind of "change" they advocate, and some may even fool themselves into believing that what they advocate is right.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C. S. Lewis

In the end, however, their philosophy relies on coercive power by some imperfect human beings over other likewise imperfect beings.

The ideas of 1776 and 1787 were based on another powerful idea.

“The same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe, the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God.”- (John F. Kennedy - 1961 Inaugural)

"Ideas have consequences." - Weaver

One idea led to freedom, opportunity, productivity and plenty for more people than ever had been experienced in the history of civilization. That idea relied upon a Creator-people-government arrangement.

The "other" idea has failed in every society in which it has been implemented, because it relies on a government-over-people arrangement, with little or no regard or acknowledgement of the "Creator/Divine Providence/Supreme Judge of the World" affirmed in our Declaration of Independence from excessive government power.

"Tyranny is a poor provider. It knows neither how to accumulate, nor how to extract." -Edmund Burke

Now it is only the union goons, government deadwood and gimmee mo’ moochers left.

Unfortunately , that's about half the country.

Sarah, Newt, Demint, Michelle B, Col Allen west, Sue M out in NM etc all good people and conservatives.

If they ever did form their own party I’d be voting for them .

Good luck with that. There is no easy way to break oneself of addiction to Obama handouts than there is to quit heroine or tobacco cold turkey. IMHO the Clown has enough folk "hooked" to crown him King for life - we are about to find out on Nov 6, 2012, and we all know what happens if he gets another four.

Of course!

In the richest, safest, most free country in the known universe, how else could you get the lazy masses to continue supporting Liberals except by constantly telling them they are oppressed, under served, excluded, betrayed, etc. ??

The gargantuan and continuing Government support for many disabled, temporarily unemployed and people otherwise unable to care for themselves has spoiled many into thinking that THEY deserve this perpetual cradle to grave assistance.... simply because they were ONCE a disadvantaged minority! ENOUGH.... get up off your lazy A$# and DO SOMETHING for yourself.

In America, Lazy losers live in comparative ease and luxury, while in any other nation on earth, they'd be abjectly destitute.

They have become fat lazy cattle who are a burden to the rest of us.

But supplying Hope-ium to illegal immigrants isn’t such a bad thing... “We’ll register them so they can stay here and work.”

Some people sure know how to talk the talk don’t they.

Sadly, when it comes to walking the walk...

Move to America, one immediately has electricity and indoor plumbing, which is a huge jump in standard of living. Now add free rent, cell phones, hospitals, ad infinitum, and it's a no-brainer.

What’s your plan? Bring all US troops home and disperse them throughout the country in squads to round-up aliens? Rent every bus and van in the US and Canada to transport the illegals?

Railroad cars? Wouldn’t the US and International press have a field day with that, comparing it to the Nazis transporting the Jews to the ovens?

Under our law, EVERY ONE of those illegals is entitled to an INS hearing before being deported. Want to guess how long that’d take with some 30 million individuals and maybe 200 judges? You can’t do an “Operation Wetback” like Ike did. It’s 2012, not the 1950’s. There is no magic wand. Grow up!

"What’s your plan?"

First, the 100-ft Americas "Fences Make Good Neighbors" Friendship Wall.

Then, the US declares a year-long amnesty, said amnesty being Jose Paperloso has a year to vamoose back over the border.

Jose has the option of free transport to the border, where there are 500 pesos waiting for him.

If he and Mamacita Paperloso have anchor babies in tow, the bambinos are issued AmeriMex passports.

They can return to the US as full citizens at the age of 18. Any attempt to permanently resettle before that age would have to be Embassy-approved through the usual channels.

After one year, the amnesty expires, and Jose & Mamacita would be deported without recourse or renumeration, and their anchor babies stripped of any appeal to citizenship.

And what's your "plan" for getting that through any foreseeable congress and signed by any foreseeable chief executive and approved by any foreseeable supreme court? If Mr. Obama is re-elected, kiss any such thing goodbye. He'll appoint 2-3 justices that'll make his other appointments look like moderates. You do know what century this is, right? Did you see all the illegals rushing out of college, high school and middle school to demonstrate a few years back? Politicians can count. Your plan might have worked as late as the Bush 41 administration (though he'd have never done it) but is infeasible now.

So it’s your opinion that we didn’t deport illegal immigrants during the 60s, 70s, and 80s, because it was just too darned hard to accomplish.

LMAO, somewhere your model of what has to take place, has jumped the tracks.

Take away freebies. Start coming down hard on employers. Put a few business owners in prison.

Adios illegals...

"Take away freebies. Start coming down hard on employers. Put a few business owners in prison."

No Democrat or Republican president or congress will do any such thing, now or in the future. I'm here in the reality-based world, where do you reside? Now would a "Tea Party" president and congress do something like that? Maybe, but no such thing exists. Despite what the Leftist media blabs on and on about, the current GOP is not run by the Tea Party, even those who claim to be Tea Party, like Rep. Michele Bachman, are weak tea, at best. She has about as much influence in the House as I do. She has never had a bill passed, to my knowledge.
