The Republican Party has many wings, but since the rise of the “Rockefeller Republicans,” the Republicans have paid more attention to those who disagree with the tenants of our Republic than to those who do agree.
Going back even further, George Romney was fearful of the “bad” influence of Goldwater Conservatives on the Republican Party, and probably that is reflected by how his son Willard Mitt Romney thinks of Conservatives today.
In sports, when a team is doing poorly against an opposing team, the remedy is TO GO BACK TO BASICS.
With the Republicans, who as “Team McCain,” did poorly against the evil “Obamanation Express,” the new Captain of Team McCain has chosen to bring in Reasonable Ryan to run interference for an unchanged McCain style offense.
Will “Team Romney” GET BACK TO BASICS during this Convention, or just follow the well-worn path of trying to be the same old wishy-washy, spineless, Republicans in name only?
Tick-Tock Romney, Tick-Tock.
“In sports, when a team is doing poorly against an opposing team, the remedy is TO GO BACK TO BASICS.”
If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you got.
EGGSactly Batman! And that is why we are once again at this point come November:
It is kind of sad that you have to try to paint with such a negative brush. I support your right to your heartfelt beliefs, but I do not support your right to distort and lie through your own opinon about my views. I clearly stated I did not support Romneycare and would have voted against in if I had lived in Massachusetts at that time. My “defense” was defending our Constitution and the Tenth Amendment. Under the Constitution, Romneycare and Obamacare are different beasts - I never said either was good. Perhaps it may be you who does not support the Constitution. You cannot pick and choose which parts of the Constitution you want to support. I urge you to reclaim your clear thinking conservative principles and not engage in distortions and false assumptions. I am a 100% Free Market Capitalist and follower of Milton Friedman and F A Hayek. For me, freedom trumps ideology every time, because fervent ideology of any type can easily turn into authoritarian rule that will seek to quash and subdue any who dare to think in an unacceptable manner that may be considered adverse to that ideology. Obama and Romney are not synonymous, Obama is far worse, and that is reality and that is why he must be defeated.

Nick, you are engaging in ideological emotional logic, reality is that Romney and Obama are not synonymous. As bad as Romney is, and he was not even on my list as a choice, Obama is far worse, his third world views border on communistic. You cannot logically say the same about Romney. Aand there you go again, making an assumption of my opinion. I do not hate Obama, I do not “hate” anyone, his policies across the board are abhorrent and antithetical to freedom and a free society. Do you deny that Romney is more of a free market capitalist and economic conservative than Obama?

The party insiders said the same EXACT thing about Bush's second term...."Lets get him elected then we can deal with illegal immigration".
Paint him as champion of staes rights? Hardly, I only stated the Tenth Amendment gives Romneycare some cover under the Constitution. I do not support Romneycare, I do support the right of the citizens of Massachusetts to be stupid and vote for this albatross and suffer the consequences. Obamacare cannot hide under the Tenth Amendment, it was disgusting that Roberts chose to give Obamacare cover under federal government taxation powers. Even under that premise, he should have forced Congress to pass it as a tax. As far as what Romney will do in office is speculation because he is also a free-market capitalist, we know what Obama will do. I would much rather have any number of other choices than Romney, sadly he is the only option.
Okay, who is distorting now. The Supreme Court ruled Obamacare/federal Romneycare was Constitutional. Case closed. Please cite the exact place in the Constitution where it gives KMAJ2 more authority than the Supreme Court to decide what is Constitutional. Please answer. Perhaps it may be you who does not support the Constitution. You cannot pick and choose which parts of the Constitution you want to support.
Is there any proof of that? Romney is scared to take even a moderate position, let alone a conservative one. Even though he knows it will cost him the election he still won't even pretend he's against socialized medicine.
Romney could be a worse threat. Republicans will be forced to fight Obama if he is president. If Romney gets elected, there will be no one against socialism. It's laughable to think the House will stop him. Look at how bad they were when Bush was president. I shudder to think what Romney, Pelosi, and Reid would do. An immigration bill that will make you wish you weren't a U.S. citizen. Socialized medicine more extreme than any country in the world. Terrible restrictions on religion.
I am not saying I want Obama to be reelected. But I have a big difference than you.
You want to give Romney the message that you will support him no matter what, no matter how extreme to the left he goes.
I want to give him the message he will not be supported if he doesn't toe the line. I don't understand why you want to give him a blank check to do anything he wants.
But there is a scary part you haven't even realized. Romney can make it so no conservative or moderate ever gets an influence over the GOP. He is already changing convention rules that takes all power from the grassroots, and gives it too the establishment. What is your plan about that. After 2012 conservatives and moderates will be locked out of the GOP for good.
There you go again, Nick. I was speaking of the Constitutionality of Romenycare. Now you seek to inject Obamacare as relevant to that statement, but I will play your game. Did the Supreme Court uphold Obamacare with the Tenth Amendment? I do no think so, Roberts upheld it under federal government taxation powers (a flawed decision if you ask me, but I do not have a vote). Did I say Obamacare was unconstitutional? No. Did I say I have more authority than the Supreme Court? No. You are engaging in distortions and distractions. Stay on point.
I would say working in the private sector successfully would offer a modicum of support to the idea he is a capitalist.
Romney has stated repeatedly he will repeal Obamacare, you are certainly free to disbelieve, but you know for a fact Obama will not repeal it.
And as I have also stated, giving Obama any more Supreme Court nominations would be a disaster.
Romneycare is clearly a violation of the First and Fourteenth Amendments. (At least)
Have you ever heard of Jon Corzine? Most big company CEOs are diehard Democrats.
I have a question for you: if a Democrat was running for president and said exactly what Romney said, would you support them? If a Democrat had created slaverycare, would you still be saying it’s okay? No, you would be bashing it completely. But because Romney says it, you are not bashing it. Shame on you. You are giving Romney cover to do whatever he wants. I hope you don’t work for a small business that Obama has clobbered, and Romney would finish off.
Romney intends to name Lawrence Tribe and/or Cass Sunstein to the Supreme Court. When that happens, what are you going to say?
There you go again, Nick. Why do you do that? Is it a bad habit you can’t break? You certainly have no clue to my thoughts and opinions, yet you continue to try lie to prop up your argument. Where did I ever say I give Mittens a blank check? Put up or admit to your lie.
When did we ever even have any discourse about Pelosi & Reid? or on the “illegal immigration” issue? Or on restrictions on religion? You keep presenting a moving target in your argumentation.
You at least mention socialized medicine, but then make the outlandish statement that it will be more extreme than “any country in the world”. Based upon what factual and verifiable information do you make that assessment?
I do not think you want Obama re-elected and I will not make that statement that not voting Romeny means you want Obama re-elected, that would be distorting your position.
My vote is not a blank check, and if he veers too far out of line (I do not expect 100% agreement with my positions), I will work to make him a one term president come 2016.
