National Security Agency whistleblower William Binney explains how the secretive agency run its pervasive domestic spying apparatus...
Binneyone of the best mathematicians and code breakers in NSA historyworked for the Defense Department's foreign signals intelligence agency for 32 years before resigning in late 2001 because he "could not stay after the NSA began purposefully violating the Constitution."
In a short video called "The Program," Binney explains how the agency took part of one of the programs he built and started using it to spy on virtually every U.S. citizen without warrants under the code-name Stellar Wind.

It’s not that nutty.
After 9/11, every alphabet agency, Los Alamos *and* black ops joint in the country was hitting our website because “US Trikes” must have sounded too much like “US strikes” to them.
I mean *hundreds* of hits every week.
It went on for months.
I guess they were waiting to see if we’d suddenly ‘attack’ something.
[WTH?]
Eventually I embedded Tull’s “Thick As A Brick” midi on the pages so they had to hear it every time they clicked.
After that, they went away.

The fed has been spying on citizens since Hoover, just who does the spying has changed. To skirt domestic laws we exchange collected data with foreign governments.

just who does the spying has changed. Really?
You don't think that the technological capability to monitor and record 100% of the electronic communications that are in or pass through the United States is a change?

My paranoid friend said it would just p*ss them off and I shouldn’t do it.
Well *I* was p*ssed off because they were skewing my web stats all to hell.
That, and I thought it was funny.
[I never said I had any measurable common sense]

The next thing you know we'll be finding out that they can automatically cause your computer to shut down/reboot despite having a firewall, no known viruses on your system, no recognized system problems and up to date virus and malware protection.
The good thing about all of this...I haven't been paranoid for over ten years for nothing after all. {;^)

Amateurs. Real professionals would let their computers chew through the website and the computers wouldn’t care less about Tull.

Rand Paul doesn’t think it’s nutty. He sent out an e-mail saying he was briefed on this very thing.
