Embattled Senate candidate Todd Akin just told reporters in Chesterfield that he is staying in the Senate race against Democratic incumbent Claire McCaskill.
Akin repeated the kinds of statements he'd made previously to national media, asserting that he's never had the support of the Republican party establishment anyway. [...]

You mean the Mormon Mafia?
This is what happens when we let liberal Democrats pick our candidates.....
“Good job of picking out a small portion of my response. I was all over Lott at the time including calling his office, sending email, and sending faxes.”
Then your actions today are illogical. Once again how can you defend Akin due solely to the argument that “well he has an ‘R’ next to his name” but then relive the days when you were rightfully attacking the faux Republican Trent Lott?? You don’t see the inconsistency there?
You argument falls flat. Humans do not give other humans life.

Call me confused but not illogical. Are you confusing me with another FReeper? Have you read what I have written about Akin? I have not defended him and have called him an arrogant *ss for blowing the chance to get rid of McCasKILL and not deferring in favor of another conservative and pro-life candidate who could beat her.
If you are pro-life and live in Missouri, I see no alternative for you than to vote for Akin no matter what the Republican establishment says.
Vote your conscience and let the chips fall as they may. If Missouri is a predominantly Christian state (which I believe you are) then Akin will beat McCaskill. If not, then the individuals who voted for him can have a clear conscience, and the rest of them can have hot coals heaped on their heads for letting an evil person like Claire McCaskill take your state to hell.
Just like NOT voting for Romney in the presidential election is a vote for Obama, the same is true for Missouri. A no-vote or write-in or 3rd party vote is a vote for McCaskill.
We had four great candidates for our Senate primary here in Wisconsin. I wanted ANY ONE of them other than Tommy Thompson. Guess what? Tommy won. I now have a Tommy Thompson for Senator on my lawn next to my ROMNEY/RYAN sign. I will do anything to help Tommy beat the evil Tammy Baldwin (who is LEFT of Nancy Pelosi) win that seat. Tammy has HUGE LGBT groups backing her hoping to make her the first openly gay U.S. women senator. Over my dead body. I will crawl over broken glas to help Tommy win. And then hopefully the Tea Party candidates can get in slowly over the next 2 to 6 years.
Don’t throw away the entire Senate because of stubbornness. Swallow your pride, and take baby steps to help take back Missour and the U.S.A.
“I have not defended him”
Your pic comparing his idiotic comment with Bubba’s rape says otherwise.
I hadn't heard that the Republican establishment said to not vote or vote third party.
Just like NOT voting for Romney in the presidential election is a vote for Obama
Nope, that's publik-skool math. If I vote for Romney that's +1 for Romney v 0bama; if I vote for 0bama that's -1 for Romney v 0bama - but if I vote third party that's 0 for Romney v 0bama. See the difference now?
Full respect for Mr. Akins bottom line message. So very sad that some here and other GOP puppets have asked Mr. Akin to pull out. God Bless ya Mr. Akin! There’s no way you should drop from the race.........see you in the winner’s circle on November 7th. Mittens, Sarah and the other schlubs will be biting their tongues (and hopefully apologizing for their outrageously foolish kneejerk reactions).
PS........the best thing with this issue is that Romney has been exposed as the extreme PUTZ, and Mr. Akin is a man of consistant principle.
I would consider that a pretty radical shift, wouldn't you?
FReepmail me your address. Was it the Ballad of Mike Moran or the CD Uncle Shag was supposed to produce? He ripped me off for $1200. Sorry, if I made a mistake and didn’t take care of it.
As I told you long ago I ain't worried about it. It wasn't that much or that big a deal.
I've just kept it here on my desk over the years and never threw it away. I think about it when I occasionally run across your screen name.
Just thought you might find it humorous that somebody kept something like that for that long.
While I think this is a mistake, at this point it serves no purpose to continue to attack Akin. His comment was stupid but he is still much better than Obamacare Claire. Thus, if I were a MO voter, I’d support him.
Having said that, Akin supporters have a lot of work cut out for them. They have to redouble their efforts to get him elected. Sitting back and bitching and crying about how the “Republican Establishment” needs to do more won’t cut it.
I think you have it backwards. Why would he want to associate with them after they revealed their true motives and intentions?
The GOP needs to be on their knees begging him to come back, if he wins.
The GOP has already established what they are, it's the price that needs to be negotiated now.
