Because the age of consent in Minnesota is 16 it is not illegal to have sex with someone who is 17. However it can be a misdemeanor to engage in sex acts in a public place.

Everytime I read one of these stories I shake my head - independent of all the other issues - the “lifestyle” of anonymous restroom sex just seems so sordid and sad to me - what an existence. The argument that homosexuality is just an “alternative lifestyle” doesn’t meet the common sense test - 56 year olds meeting 17 year olds for restroom romps is just pitiful IMHO.
