On Thursdays edition of MSNBCs The Cycle the group discussed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romneys assertion that President Obama should take [his] campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago. Co-host Touré saw what he believes to be explicit racial connotations beneath what Romney was saying, calling it the niggerization of the campaign.
That really bothered me, he said. You notice he said anger twice. Hes really trying to use racial coding and access some really deep stereotypes about the angry black man. This is part of the playbook against Obama, the otherization, hes not like us.
I know its a heavy thing, I dont say it lightly, but this is niggerization, Touré said to the apparent shock of his co-panelists. You are not one of us, you are like the scary black man who weve been trained to fear.
Naturally this led to a battle between Touré and conservative co-host S.E. Cupp. She took particular issue with the fact that Touré admitted that VP Joe Bidens chains comments were divisive, but is now calling Romney a racist for saying the Obama campaign is angry.
Do you see how dishonest that is? she asked.
Touré denied calling anyone a racist, which prompted Cupp to say, Certainly you were implying that Mitt Romney and the base will respond to this dog-whistle, racially-charged coding, and hate Obama, the angry black man?
Absolutely, he replied.
Thats so irresponsible, Cupp answered back.
This is not a revolutionary comment, Touré said. This is a constituency all-white party that rejects the black vote.
You have two white guys in Joe Biden and Mitt Romney, Cupp clarified. Joe Biden made the overtly racial comment and has a history of making bigoted remarks. Mitt Romney was responding to the comment. Yet he is the one responsible for the whole Republican history of racism in politics?
Thats not what Touré is saying, co-host Krystal Ball interjected. Youre twisting his words.
No, he can speak for himself, Cupp shot back.
Hes using the playbook Republicans have been using for decades now, Touré concluded.
Take a look below, via MSNBC:
“He’s trying to use racial coding.”
What tiresome, pseudo-intellectual drivel.
IMHO
Krystal Ball?
WTF?
Blast it, carlo! If I would have read this recipe earlier, I would have been able to put that 3 pounds of ground beef to better use.
Sounds more like Toure trying to crackerize Romney.
Tourré ought to go back to prowling for crack money while hanging around outside the showers at the "YMCA", and leave the political commentary to the grown-ups. What a depraved, disgusting caricature of a person.
;-\
Only a racist could see that statement as racist...
So after the Obama reelection team said Romney killed a women, Romney can't call Obama on it for what it is: "division, hate, and anger"... gutter politics...
I hope Team Romney doesn't fall for this crap and take the bait to tone down their campaign so not to be accused of racism...which was Tour'e talking point anyway...
As Archie Bunker once said while denying to Meathead that Harry Belafonte was black. “Harry Belafonte ain’t no black....he’s a good looking white guy dipped in caramel.”
Can you imagine saying that on TV today. Your show would be off the air by the second commercial break.
I for one would like to thank the left for giving us the WON. Lets face it, we were going to lose 2008 no matter what and no matter who we nominated. During that campaign the race card was played so frequently and in so many different ways...subtle, in your face, rapid fire...that we became desensitized. I remember phone banking for mclame and for the first time in my life being called a racist. It stung so bad that I was in tears. Now it just peeves me off. I suspect that many others have had similar experiences.
One of our resident lesbians in the dog park this am tried to bait me into an argument when she noticed that I took my Sarah bumper sticker off my car (hubby expects violence) and asked me why. I said “oh I will be voting obama this year”. The look on her face was priceless, something between shock tinged with dubious delight. When she questioned me I said “sure I will. Just so long as that new car gets here and he pays off my mortgage like he promised”. I would have never had the nerve to return fire on her like this had it not been for contest on who is going to be the most aggrieved about conservatives and what we stand for. They can all go stuff it. If people want to call me a “hater” they can go right ahead. We will all just have to pray that R&R in their much higher profile positions can resist the storm that is coming their way.
LOL. The "angry black man" persona is one that Obama deliberately adopted early in his career. He has played on that theme throughout his life, and continues to do so. No "code words" are necessary.
YIKES.. correction on the Meatball recipe.. 12 cup cream.. Should be 1/2 cup Cream.. GULP
FYI.. (eyes crossed)
YIKES.. correction on the Meatball recipe.. 12 cup cream.. Should be 1/2 cup Cream.. GULP.. fast fingers.. :)
The sad reality is that Obama and his campaign are engaging in the niggerization of Obama.

It’s Morose code.
There was a good comment on the original article about Hussein having never run a clean campaign in his life. That being the case, which it is, I think we can expect him to run a no-holds-barred, all the stops pulled out, campaign this time. Dirty like nothing we’ve ever seen in American politics at the national level, because a lot things are different now-the media is open and brazen in their bias, and we left the purported quest for racial “equality” in the rear-view mirror some time ago-what’s happening now is not a quest for equality anymore. For example, the meaning of “teen” in regards to crime reporting is understood by all to mean something other than the age of the perpetrators.
In spite of all the huffing and puffing, the outrage and the pandering...what does the word they are referring to actually mean? Anybody got a real definition of what the meaning is?
