She did a fine job of destroying herself with that Couric interview. She actually cited that she could almost see Russia from her house when asked about foreign policy credentials. You and I both know she isn’t stupid, but first impressions are nearly impossible to overcome, that was the first most people saw of her, and that was perhaps the worst response to a question ever.
>>>>She actually cited that she could almost see Russia from her house when asked about foreign policy credentials.
I know some section of american people lack commonsense , understanding of reference or phrase usage. If they can’t figure out what she is referring, its not her fault, It is poor schooling and bad teachers.
She was referring that Russia is neighboring country and one deal with neighbor everyday. When state is on International border, they have to deal with other countries. Russia is not a small or peaceful country.
Its very difficult to educate to close minds, whatever reasons, poor teachers, education, parents or just close minded or slow.
Um, it was Tina Fey in parody of Palin who made the crack about seeing Russia from her house. Sarah’s comment was that Alaska is within visual range of Russia, and it really is. The entire, uncut interview puts her comment in proper context. Did you know Alaska has one of the few governors who actually gets involved in nuclear missile defense? But if your handler gives away full editorial control to a lefty journalist who wants to make you look bad (and that is what happened here), they could make anyone look bad, even Reagan.
But that's okay. Only Sarah Palin is supposed to get things right every time.
Palin never said that...now you’ve lost all credibility.
She most certainly did not. She said you could see Russia from a part of land in Alaska (not verbatim).
Which by the way, while watching State Troopers in Alaska, one episode was filmed from that island. THEY as well said, on a clear day you could see Russia.
You're confusing Saturday Night Live with reality.
First off, Sarah NEVER SAID she could see Russia from her house. THAT was said during the Saturday Night Live routine by the actress PLAYING Sarah.
What Sarah actually said was that she was WELL aware of the importance of Foreign Policy, because she could see Russia from her STATE, which is absolutely TRUE. As Governor, she was in charge of the National Guard contingency in her state, which would constitute the first respone to any incursion by the Russians, which incidentally has happened a couple of times, in recent years.
It's interesting that any other politician can have a crappy interview, and it's forgotten in a week or two, but this charge is still dragged out against Sarah ALL THE TIME! It's getting VERY old!
