In a press release by a family attorney, the mother of the alleged shooter identifies him as Tres Caffall.
The following is the statement from Linda Weaver through family attorney Tyler Moore.
"Our family was shocked and devastated by the tragedy this afternoon. Our thoughts and prayers go to the families of the deceased and the wounded victims. We mourn them and the loss of Tres. He had been ill. It breaks our hearts his illness led to this. Please respect our privacy in our grief."

Curious to know what the illness was. Only mental illness might be sufficient to blunt the impact of what the media will find on
Caffall's Facebook page -- "right wing gun fanatic" and all that.

I’m wondering what role Facebook plays in these people going nuts?
It seems every one of them has such a page, and usually has crazy post on it well before the event.
Anon idiots egging them on?
Facebook page an indication they have no lives on the real world, so only loose ties to reality?
Just wondering aloud, and no, I do not have a Facebook page!

Bullsh#t on this disease. The POS is an evil little bast#rd and only redeeming feature was his inability to get shot and survive. Good riddance and let's all forget his name, his lame excuses, his enabling family and offer prayers for the woman in the hospital who this punk shot and the family of the constable who he murdered.
Brian Bachmann is the constable he shot and he leaves behind a family. Chris Northcliff was an innocent bystander who was murdered and a nice lady was shot and had to go to the OR.
The victims need to be remembered, the perpetrator needs to be erased from society, his memory buried and grave unmarked in a ditch or left in an open pasture. His family can just stfu.

If they knew he was ill, why didn’t they do something about it?

Pretty much everyone and their grandmother has a Facebook page these days, if Facebook caused violence, there would not be a single man woman or child left alive outside of North Korea.

Also, I am sure it was a *mental* illness.

Its virtually impossible to force a mentally ill person to do something he does not want to do. Plus in this country it is incredibly difficult to have someone committed, just being crazy is not nearly enough. Applying to a mental facility is like applying to Medical School, it takes years of effort.

The article said one of the victims was serving an eviction notice at a residence was the shooter the person being evicted?

Well I do not have one, and last Birthday was # 68. Soooo if My Grandmother has one would have to be a direct line from Heaven.

If you say so, but Face-book is NOT universal.
Waco’s having pages apparently is.
Must be at least as much causality as “Violent Video Games”.

The only folks who can comment directly to your Facebook page are the people you have accepted as your ‘friends’. Just anyone can’t comment on your page.

Not real familiar with exact details of that particular feed-back loop waste of time.
Never will be.
What little I have seen disgust me.
I try my best to avoid it altogether.
