"Do we go forward towards a new vision of an America in which prosperity is shared?" Obama asked. "Or do we go backward to the same policies that got us in the mess in the first place?"

"I believe we have to go forward," Obama said. "I believe we have to keep working to create an America where no matter who you are, no matter what you look like, no matter where you come from, no matter what your last name is, no matter who you love, you can make it here if you try. That's what's at stake in November. That's what is why I am running for a second term as president of the United States of America."

There is nothing new about the vision in which prosperity is "shared" by government command.

It's been tried in National Socialist Germany, Soviet Socialist Russia, Mao's People's Republic of China, Cuba, Viet Nam, Yugoslavia, North Korea, East Germany, and many other places that traded the difficulties before communism for abject misery after prosperity was shared under the command of people who believe what Obama believes. Prosperity IS shared. Prosperous people start businesses, grow businesses, and employ lots of people. They contribute to the overall economy by buying business and consumer goods. It’s called a free market economy.

Obama’s idea of sharing prosperity is the government confiscating wealth from the private sector, picking business winners and losers contingent on how much graft comes their way, and doling government money out to grow dependency, i.e. buy votes.

“Sharing” is a concept I’m currently have to teach a couple toddlers.
The hard part of late is emphasizing is that “sharing” is initiated by the one who has as a gesture of generosity - and _not_ initiated by the one who has-not as an act of greed.
