WASHINGTON — An Army officer being promoted to brigadier general openly acknowledged her homosexuality on Friday by having her wife pin her star to her uniform, thus becoming the first openly gay officer of flag rank in the United States military.
The officer, Brig. Gen. Tammy S. Smith, 49, a 26-year veteran of the Army, was promoted in a ceremony at the women’s memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. The star was affixed by Tracey Hepner, who was a co-founder last year of the Military Partners and Families Coalition, which “provides support, resources, education and advocacy for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender military partners and their families,” according to its Web site.
The couple married in March 2011 in the District of Columbia.

Obviously this as been going on for a long time — BG Smith’s “wife” left the Army way back in 1986 and “said she left the Army because of the strains of maintaining a secret lesbian relationship.”
Congrats to her! Its good to see a person rise to their ultimate potential by being promoted amongst her peers.
Its NOT so great for her to rub America’s nose in her sexual orientation, which should be PRIVATE in all manners of speaking AND action! IMO.

Okay, so this GENERAL lied through the early part of her career, as before Clinton’s “Don’t tell ...” policy, recruits were most certainly asked.

She is an exhibit of PC promotion over qualifications. She has no place in the military. She lied AND she compromised national security by allowing her lie to leave her exposed to being blackmailed.

If somebody would have told me that this was possible when I enlisted in the 80’s, I would have laughed in their face.
I hate what these people (those pushing the homosexual agenda) are doing to our military. These people will not be happy until they render our military one big, gay, combat-ineffective organization.
