Paul Ryan welcomed home with massive rally in Wisconsin
NBC News ^ | 12 Aug 2012 | Garrett Haake & Alex Moe

WAUKESHA, Wis.-- The largest crowd of the campaign so far for a Mitt Romney event welcomed home favorite son Rep. Paul Ryan at a massive rally here in the congressman's district Sunday night, pushing the GOP's vice presidential nominee to tears as he took the stage, setting off cheers with two simple words:

"Hi mom."

With that, voice cracking, Ryan showed his Wisconsin credentials to a crowd the Romney campaign hopes will be emblematic of the charismatic congressman's support in the Badger state, a reliably Democratic enclave the Republican candidate hopes to turn red this fall.

"My veins run with cheese, bratwurst, a little Spotted Cow, Leinie's, and some Miller," Ryan said, mentioning two well-known local beers. "I was raised on the Packers, Badgers, Bucks and Brewers. I like to hunt here, I like to fish here, I like to snowmobile here. I even think ice fishing is interesting."

"I'm a Wisconsinite through and through," Ryan said to cheers from a crowd which contained many members of Ryan's extended family, and which the campaign estimated to be more than ten thousand strong, likely the largest turnout ever for a Romney event.

The energy generated by Ryan seemed to inspire the man at the top of ticket, who took on a heckler midway through his own remarks, then turned the moment into an indictment of President Obama's campaign, who's tactics have riled Romney in recent weeks.

Iowa & Florida!!! It’s your turn Today!!! Virginia, North Carolina & Wisonsin all turned out by the thousands for Romney/Ryan. Today it will be Romney & Rubio in Florida and Ryan in Iowa. The eyes of this magnificent nation will be on you, Iowa and Florida.

Just remember, Iowa, Obama, the America destroyer, will be in iowa for the next three days. Paul Ryan will be there today. Time to save America, great folks of Iowa. Turn out by the thousands as your sister states did over the weekend, and make Obama the loser he is!!!

And.....Florida, primary day is on Tuesday, turn out today for the good guys, Romney, Rubio, Connie Mack & Alan West, etc.!!!

Thank you, marygam...for the words that best direct a message to the 4% of voters who are undecided, to the 5% who will vote for another candidate/will NOT vote, as per Rasmussen's polls..figures vary day to day.

Ryan is a Conservative. Romney is energized and invigorated and his speeches have been full of Conservative values, inspiration, love of this country, and he has a plan for taking this country back from the socialists/communists/marxists/sharia law loving thugs like oboma. Now, Paul Ryan next needs to connect Romney with Conservative talk show hosts like Glenn Beck and Mark Levin...Romney needs to appear on their shows and speak his piece...and Paul Ryan is the man who can bring them together. Note to Glenn and Mark Levin...can you work it from your end to get Romney and Ryan on your shows. It's a new day, and contacting Paul Ryan to make that possible is a next step. We need to come together, stand united and win in November. I saw Romney/Ryan on 60 Minutes this Sunday...each spoke about what they believe in, and when Romney was asked a question and went on to give his answer. Paul Ryan gracefully stepped up and further outlined what Romney had to say in greater detail, as Romney looked to him with a smile...no show of anger, or irritation as Paul Ryan expounded in the detail style he is being noted for.

There is hope, and lots of work to do. Romney/Ryan need to touch base with every state...I know Romney was in Elk Grove Village, IL, my state recently...betcha the turnout would have been huge if both he and Ryan were to appear. And this duo needs also to make contact with the black and hispanic voter base...the Young Black Republicans, hispanics, etc., black and hispanic business owners, etc. Also, they need to address seniors and explain IN DETAIL their plans for Medicare and entitlement programs...we all realize that changes do have to be made...the generational, way-of-life welfare folks will not want to hear this, and that is their problem, but changes do have to be made, and it is up to Romney/Ryan to EXPLAIN their plans in a clear, concise mannner that all that understand, and keep pounding their message home. Like Paul Ryan said, oboma likes to distract people because he has nothing to sell the American public...we know who and what he is.

God bless Romney/Ryan, and may God bless America.

obummer DID give his FU finger to Ryan, as Ryan spoke. obummer is a lowlife, a wimp who acts big when surrounded by his supporters...let him try giving the finger to someone when he is on his own, and you and I AND obummer know someone would smack him silly..at the least!

I live in st Augustine, FL and I’m going to see them this morning. There’s HUGE interest all of a sudden! (lukewarm barely described it before Ryan was picked.)

And I’ve early-voted,for the good guys!

The Ryan pick will play very well in Ohio. Ryan graduated from Miami of Ohio

I actually read a piece condemning Ryan for going to uppity Miami University and paying for it with his own money. It made Ryan out to be some kind of snob because he was too good to accept the in-state tuition rates at Wisconsin schools. Needless to say, the author of that hit piece will be voting for the guy who allegedly went to Ivy League Columbia and Harvard. No word yet on whose money paid for that.

"Listening to Paul Ryan’s speech tonight I was struck by how American he is in contrast to the occupier. He is so much one of us that to me it makes it really stand out how much the assclown is NOT one of us. Not only that but he has family members, friends, neighbors old class mates - all people who can say they know him and knew him when. He is not some weird anomaly that just appeared."

That's a seriously keen observation that bears repeating. It's uncanny how a bona fide Natural Born Citizen can so effortlessly expound on his natural connection to the American society he was born into and reared amidst.

“Even Palin who has been totally trashed will work her butt off to get behind candidates and support the ticket. For her it is Country First. She is the best example of turning the other cheek and for that I am so Thankful to her”

You are exactly right. This election will define our nation for the future. To sit it out or not vote the ticket that can defeat Obama is insane!!!!

God bless Sarah....and the USA!

“Obama sat and glared at Ryan in complete contempt and disgust, perhaps he even gave Ryan the subtle mid-finger. (not sure on that)”

I watched a video replay of that. Obama certainly had that middle finger on his cheek as he was listening to the truth. I have always thought of Mr. Obama as very low class since I first noticed him doing this.

Are the Republicans at risk to lose Ryan’s house seat?

Who are running (Dem & Repub) and who is the most likely winner?

Great!!! We are going to win Virginia, North Carolina, Wisconsin. That was clearly evident over this weekend. Time for the citizens and voters in Florida, Iowa & Ohio to fess up by turning out big time for Romney/Ryan these next few days.ed

Obama’s election rallies have been dismal across the board. We need to keep the pressure on by having exciting, positive, motivated rallies for the “Good Guys”, our team of Romney & Ryan!!!

Thanks to both of you, I thought I saw the disgusting MID finger display.

RYAN was not intimidated by Obama's disgusting arrogant display of contempt in that sham of a committee. Paul Ryan was a PIT BULL, and the only man at that table.

Obama just never expected anyone the likes of Paul Ryan. Bet Zero kicked his way out of the door screaming "WHO LET HIM IN HERE?"

After November we will once again have GROWN UPS IN CHARGE.
