PASADENA, Calif. In a show of technological wizardry, the robotic explorer Curiosity blazed through the pink skies of Mars, steering itself to a gentle landing inside a giant crater for the most ambitious dig yet into the red planets past.
Cheers and applause echoed through the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory late Sunday after the most high-tech interplanetary rover ever built signaled it had survived a harrowing plunge through the thin Mars atmosphere.

Then compare the 3. That should give you some insight into what happens when mankind explores.
..... said Queen Isabella to Christopher Columbus.
...or any number of diseases, affordable healthcare, inexpensive fuel, etc
Then why has everything turned into “the search for life”?
Why are we not settled in on moon bases?
You are quick to call others names. And I may be simple however I believe Satan is behind the “search for life” just like he is behind all things in this world. He is the prince of the air. When NASA announces they have found life, they can then say God is not involved, We have proved that life is abundant in the universe and many more will be decieved by the lies of the devil.
Apparently they still have enough employees to do this.
Sounds like something said back in 1491.
I remember looking at dad "funny" when he first tried peanut butter.
Now, in the '50's, my bro and I...we were environmentalists. We climbed up on the cabinets, opened the door under the sink where the mice lived...and waited with a towel to "scoop'em up and then what?? We never got one that way so that wasn't a problem.
Don't ask about bro and I killing our first chicken....aka...."the chicken that wouldn't die".
Rather compare to the maned expeditions to the moon and the vast economic wealth that was created as a result of these - oops, my bad, there was zero wealth that was created as a result of the manned landings on the moon. (and Mars is over 100 times further away)
I wouldn’t. Besides being too old, I have no desire to leave earth.
I would think that if they find “life”, they can say it is all throughout the universe. All it needs is the proper enviorment and life will develop. That would mean in there eyes that God did not create life.
How many days at war in the middle east does it take to burn up $2.5B?
‘Prince of the air’? What does that even mean, and how do you know this?
Columbus was just looking for funding. They aleady knew North and South America existed. They were looking for the best routes and the best lands.
Thank you for proving my point...

How old are you, to ask a question like that?
I’m old enough to remember a certain porch-sitting group of society, wailing that the money to go to the Moon, was ‘nuttin’ but a waste of money, d’at coulda bin spint on me!’
It’s amazing, that with all the acquired knowledge about the planets, space travel, and space exploration available to you, through the same keyboard you used to type such a question!
I meant to say that the Bible tells us that Satan is the prince of the world as well as the air (eph 2.2)
Then I come to FR and find that folks here think that the Mars landing makes Jesus cry. Could we possibly play into the enemy's strawman argument-that we are brainless fanatical hicks-any better than that?
We keep saying that we want America back, but this generation doesn't deserve America.
Remeber them? They are still around and they are posting this very morning. My favorite (from a NYT comment page): "they could have bought 200,000 new cars for all us poor folks for what it cost to put a car on Mars!"
