"Unexpected Swallowing of a Knife" -- that's a grabbier title than most ones you see in medical journals.
The short item, a clinical image in this week's New England Journal of Medicine, explains that a 30-year-old woman with a history of bulimia had been bragging to friends that she no longer had a gag reflex. She put the knife into her mouth and then laughed -- at which point she swallowed the knife.

W000t!
I know that any kitteh that comes to me will be the one that needs me as much as I need him/her. I have never questioned why I rescue the critters I do, because I know that we meet when we are supposed to. So it has been. So it will be.
Dinner was good, but the meat was a little tough. Another reason for not buying meat at Walmart. Smith’s (Kroger) has much better pork, and I was a little disappointed. However, the invitee was happy to be fed something besides a frozen dinner of less than 500 calories.
(I GOTTA teach this guy how to EAT! LOL!)

Nice pic. Problem is, when the dog doesn't see you, that's when you get accidentally jumped on. I've seen the tragic results all too often, for all involved.
Throw cushion mishaps are a hazard as well, but those usually result in nothing more than bruised dignity and an Empty Couch.

Our catz do not match the furniture, fortunately.

Cheaper than getting new furniture, and they last longer, too.

Martha Stewart used to put towels that matched the furniture on her furniture so it didn’t matter if her pets shed all over the place. She just popped the fuzzy towels into the washer and replaced w/clean ones. She has tons of good ideas.

Our catz do not match the furniture, fortunately. You haven't had the cats long enough for them to re-hue the furniture via shedding, then?
Cheers!

LOL - that was good!
Jake and Shannon are shorthairs, so they don’t shed all that much. And they prefer floors and beds to most of the other furniture.

You only see Basement Cat when she want you to see her!
I can sort of make out a black ear in the horizontal-view shot.

He is our oldest cat. The B&W and the Tabby have passed away, but Lucas Prince of Darkness is still kickin’ at 14 yrs.
Since we moved here, we have taken in two more basement cats, both female.
Yes, the slight outline of an ear is the only give-away in that shot, LOL!
