A University of Southern Mississippi (USM) professor is demanding the faculty Senate reevaluate the universitys support for "organizations that are anti-gay" including the popular fast-food chain Chick-fil-A.
"We have a nondiscrimination policy at USM that includes sexual orientation and so if we have that policy, I think to live up to that, then we should not be doing anything to support organizations that are anti-gay," associate political science Professor Kate Greene told local NBC affiliate WDAM Channel 3, regarding the Chick-fil-A controversy.
Greene, whose website says she is the second most senior member of the political science department, has also requested the issue be taken up by the faculty Senate, the Jackson, Ms., Clarion Ledger, reported on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for USM, however, told Campus Reform on Thursday that the University currently has no plans to remove Chick-fil-A from its campus and that the faculty Senate does not in fact hold jurisdiction over which vendors are allowed on campus.

What year did you graduate?
“Bitch in wrong state”
Beyoch is chicken, too.
“Campus Reform attempted to contact Greene but a representative from the political science department at USM said she had decided to lay low after her previous comments had kicked up controversy was off camping and whitewater rafting.
Hey, ya’ll!
Good posts!
My sister was a Phi Mu at Southern, and majored in music.
I was two weeks away from going to USM when I got engaged, and married two months later.
No...wasn’t pregnant...just the fiancee of a Navy pilot who was already in south Texas. It was a “do or die” situation.
So, I “did”. It was war time. ;o)
That was almost 42 years ago.
“Box lunch at the Y”
Beat me to it.
;^)
There is no other kind. The Nazis were left wing.
I attended both the Hattiesburg and Gulf Park locations and finished up in 77. I was running a business and going to school during weekdays and working at night. I didn’t need sleep until I hit my late 40’s! ;-)

LOL! I graduated in 1974, moved to the Coast to work, then came back to H'burg, got married in 75, and hubby graduated USM in 1976. After that, we moved away, and haven't lived in MS since.
We hope to move back soon. Our parents are no longer with us, but we both have siblings still in MS, in Jackson, H'burg, and along the Coast from Gulfport to Pascagoula.
Yep, most are cowards. Especially in the South.
In Oregon, many are anarchists, so are real trouble makers.
I guess public sympathy has something to do with it.
Anarchists... I prefer the term “Domestic Terrorist”. elf would never make it down here.

Come on back home... it is one of the best places to live. GOD still smiles on Mississippi and men and women are still free... for now. We can always join the Republic of Texas should things go from bad to worse. ;-)

Heck...ELF has it’s headquarters in Portland. They are allowed to roam freely, as you would expect.
They have already been designated domestic terrorists, but it doesn’t matter. Just as Oregon is a sanctuary state.
I can’t wait to be able to spend way more time in my blessed red state. ;o)
Come on home! I do not see this Union remaining a 50 state (57 for obamao) Republic.
