A University of Southern Mississippi (USM) professor is demanding the faculty Senate reevaluate the universitys support for "organizations that are anti-gay" including the popular fast-food chain Chick-fil-A.
"We have a nondiscrimination policy at USM that includes sexual orientation and so if we have that policy, I think to live up to that, then we should not be doing anything to support organizations that are anti-gay," associate political science Professor Kate Greene told local NBC affiliate WDAM Channel 3, regarding the Chick-fil-A controversy.
Greene, whose website says she is the second most senior member of the political science department, has also requested the issue be taken up by the faculty Senate, the Jackson, Ms., Clarion Ledger, reported on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for USM, however, told Campus Reform on Thursday that the University currently has no plans to remove Chick-fil-A from its campus and that the faculty Senate does not in fact hold jurisdiction over which vendors are allowed on campus.

Yeah, why aren’t the cowards picketing mosques?
We should beat that drum loud and clear
Teaching Areas:
Public Law, Women Studies, Politics and Music
Isn’t that supposed to be Womyn Studies?
When is SOMEONE going to stand up and ask point blank, what is anti-gay about CFA?
Absolutely nothing!
What does the COMPANY do that is targeted to harass homosexuals?
Absolutely nothing!
The CEO believes that CFA stay closed on Sunday so his employees can be with their families. All of his employees, regardless of who they sleep with. Because he is a Christian.
If he was a Muslim, believed in executing gays, and told his employees he was closing the store 6 times a day for 20 minutes each time so they could pray to Allah these bigots would have no problem with that. That would be tolerance.
Future satirists are going to have a very fertile resource in the "same sex marriage controversy."
This is directly analogous to a "flat earth" exponent, screaming "hate monger," & "earth hater" at a physicist trying to explain how we know that the actual earth orbits the sun.
Anyone who really feels non-judgmental compassion for those biologically dysfunctional, should contemplate what this insanity is likely to trigger. Attitudes on the relevant subjects do not move in the same direction for very extended periods of time. It is over questions of behavior & morality that you really do have a pendulum effect, throughout history.

Study this, Heterophobe.
I assume USM is a state-supported school; if you live in Mississippi, you need to contact your state legislator and demand that this jack-booted fascist professor be removed for her hateful intolerance and callus disregard for freedom of speech.
oops! “callous”
The cost of committing harrassy against the state religion of humanism.
maybe they will hook up????
If she gets her way we should request and never stop until we get our way that their federal funding gets withheld on grounds of discrimination
Ever wonder who is going to usurp your rights, look no further than the leftist who claims everyone else is a threat.
Their actions speak more truthfully to who they are than their words ever could.
Ms ping
Bitch in wrong state
Bitch in wrong state
I'll also write a note to Dr. Greene, reminding her that the owner of CFA has every right to express his opinion on a political topic, just as SHE does. She should NOT, however, demand that a company be punished because of the opinion of its owner, or if the foundations and groups supported by the company's charitable contributions go against HER own political ideas.
Yeah well, there have always been some number of liberals on the faculty, even when I was there, back in the early 70s.
Actually, the school isn’t agreeing with Professor Greene, so that’s good news!! I’m an Alumnus, too; Class of 1974!
Then the students who support the First Amendment Rights of the owner of Chick-Fil-A, and the right of the company to support the causes it does, need to stand with the company on their college campuses. They should sign petitions to give to the college administrations, or do stand outs in front of the campus locations, showing their support for the company against the BULLIES who want to deny them the right to do business. They should also make the point that being against homosexual marriage doesn't equal HATE for homosexuals.
They shouldn't allow the vocal minority to control the argument.
Nothing. They claim the company is 'anti-gay' because it has some Charitable Foundations, and supports groups that work to uphold traditional marriage. The owner also gives money to a group that helps people who want to leave the homosexual lifestyle. THAT is considered 'hate' by homosexual activists, hence the accusation of hateful and anti-gay.
“That’s a man, baby”!!
