The 33-year-old lesbian who told police she was brutally attacked spoke to an Omaha television station Thursday.
Charlie Rogers spoke with KETV, Omahas ABC affiliate, saying the attack changed her life.
Im not hiding from this anymore, she said. My world has been changed forever.
Rogers told police three masked men broke into her house early Sunday morning, bound her with zip ties and carved anti-gay slurs into her skin before trying to light her house on fire.
Through her attorney, Rogers has declined interview requests from the Journal Star.
Police are investigating the reported attack as a hate crime, but have been unable to rule out that Rogers report is a hoax. They have no suspects

Just give the police and FBI a bit of time. They will come out with a determination that this is a hoax.
Absolutely pathetic.
Patent lies, Twana....
Tell me you didn't really ask that question.
March 9th, 2004 is a day that ought to live in Claremont McKenna history. It is the anniversary of Kerri Dunn’s hate crime hoax and a stain upon the character of Claremont McKenna’s administration. Despite maintaining her innocence, Ms. Dunn wound up spending some time in prison for faking that hate crime and lying about stolen property. She filed false police reports.
The full coverage of the entire events were covered as per usual by The Claremont Independent. That whole issue is embedded at the very bottom and linked here. (For Facebook readers, click on the title and it should take you there.) I have also posted the entire Los Angeles Times article down below.
All of this could have been prevented and should be remembered whenever there’s an alleged bias related incident. There was, as The Los Angeles Times put it, a “crisis” of hate up at the Claremont Colleges that lead to it. In reality, it was Kerri Dunn, a then 39-year old visiting psychology professor, who played upon deep seated racial animus in our culture to achieve a goal: the division of our student body. And she succeeded, at least for a moment.
Silly. She could tell by the adams apples and large, bony hands. Lesbians KNOW those things.
Has even ONE of these similar incidents turned out to be real? I see a story like this every few months, and every one that I’ve read has turned out to be bogus ‘martyr for the cause’ self-inflicted attention whoring.
This pervert is a fraud. Reality didn’t offer her an opportunity to be a victim, so she created her victimhood.
I once had a black professor who took the furniture from his house to make a cross, and burn it in his yard. He wrote something on his lawn to make cops think it was the KKK. They weren’t fooled. No one in the area could have cared less about him being black, or about his being a drug addict. No one cares if this pervert is a lesbian.
Why did Dan Rather fabricate documents in order to destroy George W. Bush’s character? Because George W. Bush was actually pretty much a straight-shooter and didn’t have many skeletons in his closet. Dan Rather was anxious to drive him from office and put a liberal in office. He didn’t want to take a chance of the people voting for Bush again, so he fabricated documents to try to control a presidential election.
Why do they act like this?
They can only push their agenda of destroying the established mores and culture by painting the established culture as being hateful, violent, intolerant, greedy and oppressive.
Our culture, overall, is not of that essence. We are a free, tolerant, welcoming, generous people who prefer to live our lives peacefully but will use righteous violence to defend ourselves, our families, our nations.
Therefore, the very anti-American and very impatient Left in this country has to fabricate stories in order to paint America as evil, so that, they believe, Americans will feel guilty about our nation and demand a change...to the left, of course.
I do not believe this. If they could do all this to her, but not light the house on fire with gasoline...?!?! No other eyewitnesses, she “freed” herself...
She carved epithets into herself for show and tell, it’s portable but can be done in private. She spraypainted epithets on her basement wall so she wouldn’t be seen doing it. She spread flammable liquid on her basement floor so she wouldn’t burn the house down when she lit it.
All manner of behavioral cues that this was not an actual attack but a staged one.

“Agenda trumps facts.”
It’s up to the police and the FBI not to allow this to be true, and to reverse it.
I’m no CSI investigator, but I do have one question that begs to be asked: Can someone explain why a person would bother to spray paint anti-gay messages on a house that was allegedly to be burned to the ground?
That is, other than a person who: 1) knew the messages would be seen later because, 2) they knew the house would not be burned to the ground because 3)...
This was the first I have heard of this incident.
My first impression was to express sympathy for her, and say something to the effect that I don’t support her life decision, but I don’t want to see her injured or attacked either.
Instead I find this was another WTF moment on a psycho lesbian’s florescent green brick road to nowhere.
Good grief!
Sounds like she may have been missing the headlines and attention she got from her basketball career and decided to fix that.
You might have something there. There was a case a few years ago of a young woman, Audrey Seiler, who was a student at UW-Madison. This young women had a perfect life up to her college days. She was a top student-athlete in high school and very attractive. Then while in college, her boy friend left her. Shortly after that, she staged a fake kidnapping and had the cops combing the area looking for her alleged abductor. Then evidence emerged that she had faked the whole thing. Because she had a little disappointment in her life for the first time, she went to pieces. I would assume that's the case with this unfortunate young Lincoln woman. Just can't face a little bump in the road of life.
To the left the Suspects are Chik-Fil-A customers!!
Serendiptiy! that nutcase Kerri Dunn lived in Lincoln before moving to Claremont.
Exactly! In Nebraska we are quite forgiving of our star athletes’ lapses in judgment.
