'So patently false' Obama removed Churchill bust from the White House
By JENNIFER EPSTEIN | 7/27/12 2:46 PM EDT
Mitt Romney has vowed to return a bust of Winston Churchill to the White House if elected president.
The only problem: it's already there.
Responding to Romney's claim that the bust has been removed from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. -- perpetuated in conservative Charles Krauthammer's Friday column in the Washington Post -- White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer on Friday called the rumor "so patently false" that he had to respond.
Though President Obama did move the bust out of the Oval Office -- and replaced it with a bust of President Abraham Lincoln -- it's still in the White House, just moved to the residence, outside the Treaty Room. "News outlets have debunked this claim time and again," Pfeiffer wrote in an unusual fact-check blog post on the White House website.
In case those reports haven't satisfied critics, Pfeiffer also offers up a 2010 photo of the president and British Prime Minister David Cameron looking at the bust along with his post.
"Hopefully this clears things up a bit and prevents folks from making this ridiculous claim again," Pfeiffer said.

The author should be ashamed.
She calles it “patently false”, but then quotes Romney as saying he wants the bust returned to the OVAL OFFICE, not the “White House”.
Which is it?
Even this reporter-ette can’t figure it out.
It's a beautiful thing.
The Telegraph, February 14 2009 (Valentine's day!)
Hmm Ive read articles explaining it was “on loan” to us but that Obama returned it to England. At the very least he took it out of the oval office, we shall see.
Let’s return the symbolic Churchill sentiment to the Oval Office:
“Some people regard private enterprise as a predatory tiger to be shot. Others look on it as a cow they can milk. Not enough people see it as a healthy horse, pulling a sturdy wagon.”
Winston Churchill
Baby Doc Barack sees a cow.
Mitt sees the healthy horse.
Agree
All so confusing.
Everyone knew that Obama shipped the Churchill bust bank to England, but all off a sudden it turns up in some dark corner of the White House just in time for a David Cameron visit.
The picture of Obama bowing to Churchill could have been altered or they have a replica at the White House.
Diplomats were at first reluctant to discuss the whereabouts of the Churchill bronze, after its ejection from the seat of American power. But the British Embassy in Washington has now confirmed that it sits in the palatial residence of ambassador Sir Nigel Sheinwald, just down the road from Vice President Joe Biden's official residence. It is not clear whether the ambassador plans to keep it in Washington or send it back to London.
Leftists are liars.
it depends on what the definition of “is” is . . .
I have noticed that a lot of articles at Politico no longer accept comments . . . gee, I wonder why the liars have done that.
This Newsweek/Daily Beast article discusses the British press reaction to Obama sending the bust back to Britain.

Hmm so what is the absolute truth? I see here claims that the bust went to a British embassy in Wash. DC. Did the Obama White House quietly take it back to create this response? Did they borrow it for Cameron’s visit? Replica?
Very curious.
Dose the nice Democrapic “presstitute” have a rationalization for the infamous “Ghetto Gift” Hussein gave the Queen of England?
Probably a replacement that was make in Red China.
I emailed the author at her politico.com address.
Nice bow Odinga.
First one that is close to appropriate.
You are correct and this should be thrown in the face of the libtards.
Romney said..”Back to the Oval Office” HA! caught them at it again!
Dan Pfeiffer, now which Obamugabe buttkisser is he? Is he the one that walks around with the industrial strength knee pads on? Or does he crawl around on all fours and pant after Obamugabe?
I see comments, but only for facebook people. What is up with that?
