Colorado Shooter's Behavior "doesn't add up"

His behavior doesn't add up

His behavior already reveals stark inconsistencies that question the mainstream explanation of events. For example, he opened fire on innocent people but then calmly surrendered to police without resistance. This is not consistent with the idea of "killing everyone."

Furthermore, he then admitted to police that his apartment was booby-trapped with explosives. If you were really an evil-minded Joker trying to kill people (including cops), why would you warn them about the booby trap in advance? It doesn't add up.

"Holmes was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, police said, adding he didn't resist when he was arrested," reports a local CBS news affiliate.

"After his arrest, Holmes told police about 'possible explosives in his residence,' Oates said. When police searched his apartment, they discovered it was booby-trapped and evacuated surrounding buildings, police said. Oates said bomb technicians are determining how to disarm flammable or explosive material in the third-floor apartment. He said police could be there some time."

None of this checks out. If you're a killer bent on causing mayhem, why tell the police about your surprise bomb waiting for them back at your apartment?

Holmes was clearly provided with exotic gear...

“Because he’s nuts?”

Yep, my thoughts exactly.

Exactly, makes a person speculate just who is funneling the funding for these groups.

What national group hates America with an extreme passion?

“Question: How does an unemployed medical student afford $20,000 in weapons gear?”

Those are good question. Maybe just follow the money.

Heartwood's scenario in Post #5 actually adds up. It looks like the original plan was to have the explosives detonate before his shooting spree (or concurrent with it).

OK, here is my tin foil response.

I wonder if the attack could be an Obama October surprise of sorts?

Remember how Obama got a bump after the Grifford shootings?

And how everyone fell in love with Clinton after the Oklahoma City bombing?

Obama will give an eloquent speech at a well televised memorial and suddenly the magic will be back.

Could this mass murderer be an Obama fan?

The president can pardon anybody for any federal crime. One of the few constitutional powers with no check or balance.

He cannot pardon state crimes such as murder.

This whole thing (even the same smirky, crazy eyed, gaze in the mug shot) reminds me of the Giffords shooting.

Question: Where does an unemployed, introverted medical school student get the training to deploy sophisticated booby traps, tactical body armor, weapons systems and more?

YouTube.

This ain't rocket surgery.

This lunatic’s mother when called knew immediately that her son was the shooter. It begs the question how many other people knew that this man was dangerous. Friends, teachers, neighbors, fellow students etc. Fully understand that the police cannot visit and question a person just because someone says he is crazy, but if someone reports that a person is acting crazy and is accumulating guns, ammo and assault gear, then the police would have paid at least a visit. Even if everything he accumulated was within the law, a visit by a police officer may have given him pause and may have changed history. Then again maybe nothing would have been changed. However if I had a neighbor with mental health problems and the guy suddenly began accumulating weapons, and his behavior was known to someone, certainly would hold that someone partially responsible if no actions were taken.

Unemployed, and all that hardware; given the media’s propensity to hide the truth, it may be a possibility...more info is needed.

His family is already in Colorado. They were taken there the morning after the massacre. I’ll be more interested is hearing why his mother was so resolute as to knowing he was the one responsible for this.

He wanted to make sure nobody could shoot back and get him while he was shooting...he wanted to live to see the destruction he had wrought. Perhaps he considered that to be “enough”.

I truly think the line from the prior Dark Knight movie sums him up: “Some men just want to watch the world burn”.

The questions are based on false assumptions. First I see no facts to back an estimate of $20K in weaponry. An AR-15, a shotgun, a couple of pistols, magazines, surplus body-armor and gas-mask, and ammunition (including that used in the shooting and the booby traps probably cost $5K tops. (Sophisticated? really? A trip-wire-triggered gun-powder, flammable liquids and loose ammunition room-sized IED is sophisticated?)

A grad student who got an NIH grant could easily have a spare $5K — even without that, science grad students generally get paid full tuition plus a stipend as TAs or research assistants and can take out fat student loans if they feel short of cash, so even though he was dropping out, he probably had leftover money from his
first year in grad school.

Generally folks who even make it into doctoral programs in the sciences (esp. ones which are ‘hot’ like neuroscience and therefore have lots of applicants) are really smart, that and the internet will get you the training to do a hell of a lot of stuff without anyone backing you.

Personally, I suspect he’ll turn out to be schizophrenic (early to mid 20’s is typical time for onset) and his dropping out and going on the murder spree were both occasioned by insanity, which, alas, didn’t rob him of his intelligence and ability to plan.

Probably totally exhausted.

The battle gear appears to have just been a costume. I believe people were encouraged to come in costume.

Those eyes tell me this guy was probably brainwashed by someone or even by himself, a med student can get all kinds of mood enchantment drugs, and with subliminal aids such as when he sleeps could have effectively brainwashed himself.

Though I believe he had a secret mentor, funder and tutor.

Much like Obama had.
