America may be facing a constitutional crisis. Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Ariz., has made a startling declaration: President Obama’s birth certificate is fraudulent. If true — and I stress if — then this scandal dwarfs Watergate. In fact, it would be the greatest political scandal in U.S. history.
Recently, Sheriff Arpaio held a news conference. He said that his team of independent investigators — composed of former law enforcement officials and reporters — have for months meticulously examined the computer-generated birth certificate that Mr. Obama revealed to the public in April 2011. Their stunning conclusion: The document is a forgery. His chief investigator, Mike Zullo, says that the document is full of errors and omissions.

Sheriff Arpaio’s findings threaten to plunge America into an unprecedented crisis. For if — and again, I emphasize if — he is correct, then Mr. Obama has perpetrated the most elaborate hoax in U.S. history. A fraudulent birth certificate would mean that Mr. Obama is ineligible to serve as commander-in-chief. His presidency would therefore be legally and constitutionally illegitimate.
The consequences would shake the country to its very foundations. It would mean that he should be immediately removed from office — impeached. Moreover, every law and executive order passed under his administration — Obamacare, the economic stimulus, the Dodd-Frank financial reform, the government takeover of General Motors and Chrysler, the granting of amnesty to nearly one million illegal immigrants, the National Defense Reauthorization Act, the drone assassination list — would be null and void. The logic is inexorable: Should the president’s legal authority be deemed invalid, then everything resulting from it is also baseless. The Obama presidency would be overturned. Mr. Obama himself would be facing criminal charges — and possible jail time — for committing fraud.

In a perfect world it shouldn't matter - if the evidence came to light during his presidency, the House and Senate would impeach and remove him and then he would immediately be handed over to a US Attorney who would prosecute him before a jury and see to it that he is convicted and locked up.
And if it came to light after his presidency, then it would go straight to the US Attorney who would prosecute him.
As a practical matter whether he would be better off having it happen during or after his presidency depends on your take on the prevailing winds.
I could see it playing out that if during his presidency overwhelming, undeniable evidence forced the House and Senate to act, that the powers that be would conclude that the humiliation of being removed from office is punishment enough for Obama and he is not thereafter brought up for criminal charges in the courts.
And if it happened after his presidency, the "let's just move on" sentiment would likely be very strong and the outcome might well be just to let it go.
And if the “let’s just move on” sentiment prevails in the House and Senate does that mean no state AG could prosecute him?
In that case Obama would be wise to avoid travel in the red states.
Sounds to me like if the brither’s suspicions are correct and it does come out... Obama’s F’ed!
Let’s hope by November we turn a lot of states Red.

Perhaps domestically laws signed by him wouldn’t be considered void. The problem will arise when other nations decide that agreements ,treaties and laws {such as laws governing over seas banking by expat Americans} affecting those nations will be considered null and void by them.

But Forgery is a high crime, as in 'high crimes and misdemeanors. Regardless of qualifications, that is enough to impeach. Then the validity of his NBC status could be sorted out and the laws voided or repealed if he failed to meet the criteria.
No question; bigger than Watergate - in truth - just not in political reality. The Leftist Media grew Watergate; and it served their agenda. The truth of Obama does not serve this Media's agenda.
The larger tragedy is not the Constitutional crisis brought on by the truth; but our Constitutional crisis that is happening right now; because of a lie - and the damage done to our nation; as we refuse to do anything about it.

Only a valid president could be impeached.
If he is a usurper then he isn’t president. He would be merely a usurper dressed up as a president.
I took the time to watch the press conference, and the fact that Obama’s BC is possibly a fraud, in a very big way, was not the high point of what they discovered. At no time during the conference did they even get close to accusing Obama of altering, or knowingly, having altered the BC. Just that it is not credible for identification purposes. Let those chips fall where they may.
The huge issue was the discovery that Hawaii has been issuing these certificates to just about anyone, as a tax paying RESIDENT and not citizen, who presented one no matter where in the world the child was born. This is still going on today and has been since before Hawaii became a state. They even found a government letter acknowledging the fact while the focus of the letter was on a different topic.
So the big question should have not been directly focused on Obama’s BC but instead asking how many people were given citizenship to this country using the process they discovered. The alarming issue to me is how many Soviet, or other nefarious interests, plants are now citizens because of the back door missing in Hawaii?
Well said. The BC issue is bigger that the Bain issue. Carney is the only one laughing when the questions come in. Sooner or later the transcipts will come out and this guy will fall like a house of cards.

In a different period in American history, I would have believed that something would come out of this. At the very least, it is breaking new ground.
It is the REPUBLICAN PARTY that will ignore it. That won't stop most of you so-called conservatives from voting for these cowards.
If the birth certificate is accepted widely as a forged, not real document, the democrats will solve the problem extra-constitutionally. A trial and impeachment proceedings would be a dirty mess and an instant, clean solution to the Obama problem will be utilized.
