An innocent man was shot dead by police after deputies mistook him for an attempted murder suspect. Lake County, Florida officers showed up at the Blueberry Hill apartment of Andrew Scott at around 1.30am on Sunday Roused from his bed in the middle of the night by an unknown presence at his property, Andrew Scott answered the door holding a gun. Officers had not announced who they were because they did not want the man they thought was inside, Jonathan Brown, to escape.

This is not the first time. They shot a marine dead who answered his door with a gun in hand.
No knock warrants should not be allowed. period. worried he’s gonna jump out the back window? here’s a wild idea.. Put some cops back there to catch him BEFORE you knock.
If only he had a dog for them to shoot instead, he’d still be alive today.
The only problem with your idea is the fat, doughnut eating pigs wouldn’t be able to catch him after he jumped, or shoot him unless he was a helpless canine trapped in the home. Even then it would take about 30 or 40 rounds.
Gestapo in action
They admitted they didn’t identify themselves? Well, that’ll be one monster settlement to the dead guys family. Hopefully a couple of cops will now be exploring other job opportunities. With any luck the words “would you like fries with that?” will be part of their new careers.
They better not be looking for new jobs... they better be in jail for murder.
Spot on.
Unbelievable! Cops seem to think that any movement on your part that causes them to question your motives, gives them cause to shoot you, and that includes shoot to kill, as in this case!
This reminds of when the police killed the Hispanic out in Azizona last year, inside his home, after he returned home from work. And his wife and boy were inside the house with him.
Agree! They need to be charged with at least manslaughter.
Tough to say what the right response should be, but one might be not to answer the door if you don’t know who is on the other side. If they start breaking down the door without identifying themselves (even then you don’t know for sure)it is decision time.
There’s a hell of a 42USC1983 action here, too. Those cops are toast.
Hahahahahahahahahah!
When cops fly.
Cops just seem too trigger-happy these days. The fact is, they killed a guy who was obeying the law. If the cops are unwilling to take SOME risk, they need to get off the force. These bully-boys give pigs everywhere a bad name!
We’re from the government and we’re here to help,...bankrupt the taxpayers.

I'd agree that they should be relocated to a setting where shakes and fries are involved, but McD's isn't quite what I have in mind.
Terrible thing to happen...but look at the bright side...with the right lawyer, somebody's going to get rich!!
