Twitter was filled with patriotic declarations, pictures of fireworks and descriptions of highly-caloric barbeques on the Fourth of July. For a few celebrities, however, the day served only as a reminder of past injustices. Comedian Chris Rock, followed by actors Don Cheadle and Zach Braff, brought the unsaid racial tensions of the country to the front burner by reminding his followers that slavery continued for many years after the Declaration of Independence was signed.

Yep. And they also conveniently forget the alternative. Their ancestors wouldn't have been brought to America. They would have either been sold by Obama's ancestors into other slave markets or, more likely, simply been exterminated in tribal warfare.

Because every country in the world in 1776 was a perfect country with no slaves or other maltreated citizens or subjects, isn’t that right Rockhead? What all the very rich leftist idiots like Rock and Cheadle are ignorant of is the fact that that America started out as an idea as well as a tangible reality. Many of the first Americans and the Founding Fathers knew that slavery was evil and worked to eliminate it. Even a number of the FFs who had slaves knew it was evil and would be eradicated one day. And today ignoramuses like Rock etal live like kings thanks to the wisdom of the FFs. But they’re too stupid to realize it.

They all wouln’t know the real reason for the 3/5 clause it it walked up and slapped them upside the head.

If they had thrown out the 3/5 clause and recognized every slave as “whole apportionment” the south would have ran rampant over the House or Represenatives and Slavery would have been enshrined in an amendment and wiother the US would have fallen apart or Slavery and it’s expansion into the teritories would have been blessed.
It is directly BECAUSE of the 3/5 clause that so much american blood was shed to finally end the inhumanity to man that was the forced involuntary servitude known as slavery. Without it slavery may very well still be alive inthe western hemisphere....
