A ranting screed from one who spends way too much time on the internet.
Look on the bright side, it caused me to send in my FReepathon payment.
Tssk tssk tssk...
22. Time is running out. Your options are shrinking daily in a list of ways as they are for all of us--unless we abide in Christ. I dont know if Fresno is at a high enough elevation to escape coming traumas for California. I dont think it is. Besides, the Chinese are not likely to be kind to Californians when they arrive to take possession of so much that they now own. I dont know if HumbleGunners place in Texas is far enough from the coast and from Mexico to be wise either. I just know, you and all on the planet need to do MUCH BETTER at getting your spiritual house and your practical house in order--faster.
What a loon!
God bless you, Jim.
Having said that, this guy is full of cr@p, sprinkled with a heavy dose of religiosity that does not even sound right.
What's up with these anti-freepers? If you don't like this forum, just go away and find another hobby. Nobody is tying you down here, and we don't really care if we miss your pompous screed or opus. They sound like the departure is some kind of earth shattering event.
Best I can tell, most of the ruckus on FR this year has been the result of your refusal to support Romney. Had you just said to everyone that you support Romney and urge all FReepers to do likewise, there wouldn’t be all this much trouble. Of course, had you done so, then I would have known this isn’t the site I thought it was.
Quix used way too many words. Got tripped up with them. Three fingers pointed back at ‘em.
Funny wabbit, Quix is for kids.
(Sorry, you had to have been there)
I’ve been here since 1998. I’ve never had anyone tell me I ran afoul of any policy or rule since I’ve been here. I’ve occasionally got crosswise with some other poster but that’s on me and on them and has nothing to do with the site in general. I frankly don’t get all of these opuses and the sentiment behind them because FR is first and foremost all about “live and let live”.
Wow, did he miss any? I guess you're just a horrible guy, Jim.
And this silly screed from a person who sucked up more bandwidth than most FReepers do.
Like you said, anyone who hates you and your website this much can just go, and probably should.
Wow. I'm an agent of the anti-Christ.
That sucks, I would think I could have at least gotten a new Buick out of that arrangement.
You know... I think all that screeching would resonate so much better if I were high.
I mean stoned to bone. Tripping with a fat ol’ joint.
Then I could appreciate the points about the carpet and the paint.
But I’m “FARRR TOOOOOOO” old for that nonsense.
Oh well. The creed is upfront. Jim you have done well to have folks do their homework. Fight On!
Quix gets his information from radio waves from aliens on the planet BsIsUs.
I can't understand the motivations. If I don't like this site, I don't have to visit it.
I guess, with all of the history we have made some people have an emotional attachment to FR. That's understandable, but logic, and facts is what drives conservatives and FReepers, not emotion. If someone posts something bogus (e.g. news article, observation, reporting, errors in interpretation, etc.) they are called out, and held to account. That's why this site is what it is. We have made history no matter the venue (e.g. the media, publishing, the presidency, "higher" education, etc.).
Jim, you have been very forgiving, and tolerant (although, sometimes the Mods have a wild hair up their a$$).
I choose to be here because I know, in the near future, this site will make history again, and that we make the liberal's/socialist's/democRAT's collective heads exploded.

I am a member of a church. I’m not happy about everything that goes on there.
Have worked a number of jobs in my lifetime. None of them were perfect.
I am a member of certain shopping clubs. I don’t particularly care for everything associated with them.
I go to restaurants. There are times when I’m not happy with all aspects of one of them.
I have a bank account. I’m not happy with every policy at my bank.
I have credit accounts. I’m not happy with every aspect of each account.
I live in California. God knows I’m not happy with everything going on at the state, country, or even city level here.
I have auto insurance. I’m not happy with every aspect of that.
I have health insurance. I’m not happy with every aspect of that.
I have dental insurance. I’m not happy with every aspect of that. In fact, I’m not thrilled with every aspect of my dental service provider.
I have a Junior College on my doorstep. You know, I’m not happy with everything going on there.
I live a pretty good life. I’m not happy with everything going on.
There are literally thousands of aspects of my life that I could point to, that fall just a little bit short of what I would ideally like to see.
My personal take on all this? It’s no big deal really. Every morning I wake up and choose to participate or not. We all have choices don’t we.
If I don’t like something involved in my life enough, I remove it from my life.
If for instance, I find that I can’t accept what’s going on at my church, I move my membership somewhere I like more. And if I elect to do so, the last thing I’m going to do is dwell on what was or is taking place at the prior church in the future.
If I have a business relationship and I don’t like it, I move on. And when I move on, I don’t look back and carp about the business, or try to get my friends to join me.
Folks, if it has come to the place where F. R. isn’t your cup of tea any longer, then do what makes you happy. Leave, forget about F. R., and get on with your happier life. And yes, I actually do hope you are happier. It’s okay with me. I like seeing people happy.
I honestly don’t like everything about F. R., but I don’t like everything about my wife, or if you get right down to it, even myself. Why must F. R. be a place of pure perfection? Only one man has ever been known to be perfect. Jim Robinson and I aren’t that guy. I screw up, and since Jim is human too, I expect him to make a mistake once in a while.
Big deal.
It never ceases to amaze me how people can leave F. R. because it makes them so unhappy, and then spend the rest of their lives talking about Free Republic at length.
Are they that masochistic? Really?
I’ve weighed my options. I’m still here. I’m supporting the place when I can.
If you’ve gone through this process like I have, and still find this a great place to come, I hope you’ll join me when you can afford it.
All the best...
Whatever you do, decide to be happy. It’s a choice.
Oh crap, that’s what I get for just scanning.
I’m obviously in great peril both physically and spiritually.
