Conservatives fought Social Security, Medicare and the weekend when they were proposed. But once enacted, Republican and Democratic Presidents embraced all three as they became part of American life.
We can expect President Obama's court-tested health-care reforms which shift payment for uninsured people's health care from hospitals to taxpayers will also go on, even if Republican Mitt Romney is elected President.

“And self pay as long as you pay the mandate fine”
I really doubt that the mandate will stand in the long run. There will be a move for religious exemptions on par with what the Muslims and Amish who are already entitled to exempt under this law. There are also Christian based non insurance health sharing plans that may qualify for a mandate exemption. Even now, zero has violated this mandate principle through the precedent of granting exemptions to the insurance requirements for unions and other crony companies.
And then, there is good old fashioned civil disobedience. After being dumped out of heathcare by their employer, do you think that someone making 60-80k/year is going to buy the crap insurance or pay the fine if it means going w/o food, gas or their rental/mortgage payment? A lot of middle class people will be thrown into this dilemma after losing a job or suffering an economic setback especially because of the new recession caused by the 0-care law.
The first order of business for Congress should be to eliminate ALL exemptions and then see how much support Obamacare really has.
Ha ha I knew you were full of it.
All mouth no bottom.
It is you that is electing Obama for his second term Not Romney voters.
Like I said put up or shut up.
There ARE 4 CHOICES.
VOTE oBAMA BY VOTING FOR Anyone but Romney
Vote Romney
Or get in the way spewing your Romney hatred, and just running your mouth.
Or start your revolution.
Dude. Free Republic is not a republican website. If you endeavor separate conservatives from their principles, you are a librul.
I am not trying to separate you or anyone else from anything.
I merely extend my own opinion that we must get rid of Obama.
Now in order to do that we have to beat him at the polls.
We cannot beat him at the polls if you toss your vote in the trash on principle.
My principle is to make an effort to save America. If your principle is to keep what we have because you do not want to vote to beat him, you do what you like.
It is your vote to toss away any way you like.
If you do not like my opinion that is fine, but don’t tell me I have no right to it.Don’t call me a liberal because I don’t agree with you, about wanting to keep Obama in office because you hate Romney.
