Hospitals too will be starved of cash by low reimbursements which will lead to less care and longer waits. As patients find that they cannot receive timely and quality care, they will increasingly seek out private, self pay care.

Yeah where if the hospitals and doctors become so screwed up

And self pay as long as you pay the mandate fine

“And self pay as long as you pay the mandate fine”

I really doubt that the mandate will stand in the long run. There will be a move for religious exemptions on par with what the Muslims and Amish who are already entitled to exempt under this law. There are also Christian based non insurance health sharing plans that may qualify for a mandate exemption. Even now, zero has violated this mandate principle through the precedent of granting exemptions to the insurance requirements for unions and other crony companies.

And then, there is good old fashioned civil disobedience. After being dumped out of heathcare by their employer, do you think that someone making 60-80k/year is going to buy the crap insurance or pay the fine if it means going w/o food, gas or their rental/mortgage payment? A lot of middle class people will be thrown into this dilemma after losing a job or suffering an economic setback especially because of the new recession caused by the 0-care law.
