"North Carolina is unique of all the states," says Daniel Fine of the New Mexico Center for Energy Policy, "of having potential natural gas but having prohibited it". Onshore shale gas exploration is banned, and drilling off North Carolina's shores has been forbidden since 1990. Last year, the governor vetoed an offshore drilling law.
North Carolina is thus a microcosm of a long-standing inconsistency in the United States' approach to energy: voracious consumption combined with restrictions on production. The assumption is that others, less squeamish about the environment, will make up the difference.

Tuesdays and Fridays at my job we get shipments packed in dry ice. Hundreds of pounds of solid carbon dioxide. (It will cool your soda pop down real nice!) It makes me giggle like a school girl to stand out on the loading dock and watch as it sublimates into the atmosphere. Then “poof”, its just gone.

Your poster is good advice to all environmentalists. They need to stop imprinting the world with their individual carbon signatures right now.
This troll is proof if how far our society has devolved. If he/she/it could think at all then he/she/it would know that carbon dioxide is necessary to sustain life. It is food for plants. If the article has any truth, then the rest of the world should be thanking us for promoting a healthier planet!
