Looks like Roberts is a closet Gay who got married at forty for political expediency and they adopted two trophy children, and WOW! he is a wonderful conservative father and potential Chief Justice! Sick! And why didn’t George W. promote Justice Scalia or Thomas to Chief Justice with all of their experience and seniorty and instead promoted this neophype and unproven new Justice right up to the Chief Justice Position? WE must have major questions now! Scalia was the perfect Chief Justice as was Thomas as well! Thomas was the ultimate best choice! and still is! If Obama doesn’t destroy SCOTUS forever with just one more appointment!!!!!! GOD SAVE AMERICA!!
Exactly how would they have done that? The last time I checked they didn't have the votes in the Senate or Majority in the House.
I get that some Republicans want so badly to believe that Roberts is who they thought he was. Unfortunately he is not. The man is a turncoat and more so a coward.

Government at all levels needs to be tremendously reduced immediately or we will not survive: Your share of the federal debt is already over $100,000 and exploding . The IRS and EPA need to be abolished immediately . The 100,000 pages of government regulations choking businesses need to be instantly eliminated. How to do this? My proposal is : (anybody have a better plan put it out there): The states need to secede from the union. And then those states write a new constitution that proclaims that the federal government’s only roles are in defending the country from Foreign threats like illegals and china. Never will it be allowed for government at any level to get involved in schools, healthcare, or welfare or charity.99% of what governments do now should be abolished and illegal. The only thing the government could have a small role is in roads as they already ruined that So governments should only deal with police(local), military , border control, customs( federal), roads( states), courts at all levels (only to protect individual and property rights )and only a sales tax and tariffs allowed at any level of government. That means an EPA,IRS, government schools, HUD,HHS , dept of energy,income tax, property taxes are always illegal(never never will any politician even propose legislation that would deal with any of this as it would be illegal).
Please look at the long view and how he threw roadblocks in Obama’s path.

Even if you are correct and this decision helps defeat Obama in November (and that is arguable - people love a winner), the price is too high. Roberts has created a fearsome weapon that can be used by any future authoritarian in the US., We will have to fight this war at every election. The would be dictators can now use a tax to compel any behavior and destroy any opponent.

By taking the Commerce clause off the table, he prevented future erosion of that all encompassing liberal mantra.
By allowing for States Rights to opt in or out of Zer0care, he fully undermined the intent of this terrible law, of 100% coverage for the nation. Now 50 (or 57) states can fully review the impact on their citizens and long term state finances, and bring their arguments to the general public of the entire country.
By calling it what it is - a tax - he undercut all of the RAT’s hidee holes calling it a “mandate”.
By siding with the scum lib SCOTUS lesbians, he propelled the greatly flawed law back to the congress and the people to decide what we truly wish for, in the daylight, not under the dark nasty skirts of Nancy Pelosi’s coronation gown!
Remember, he said that the Court was an arbitor of the Constitution; not the decider of good or bad policy. He left that to next year’s congress: mostly RINO’s in the House, maybe more RINO’s in the Senate, but at least, with some luck the RAT’s scurry back inside the baseboard.

It will be hard to determine which was the more influential action, Roberts’ reshaping of Obamacare, which was probably planned long ago, or Roberts’ adminstration of the oath of office to a president elect who had just told the world, on his web site, that he is a naturalized citizen, a 14th Amendment “Native-born citizen of the US.” Roberts and the rest of the progressives were showing you that Constitutional provisions which interfere with their plans can be ignored, with the help of the media which will parrot “because it was not defined in the Constitution”. Those words were not untrue, but also apply to every other term in the Constitution, created, as explained by James Madison, to rely upon the common-law and language familiar to its framers because definitions change in time, and the Constitution was written to be understood by literate citizens, not just those with hundreds of law books. Telling the world that no one knew what it meant to be a natural born citizen was legal sophistry, and a lie.
The Constitution gives the Supreme Court Original jurisdiction in issues affecting ministers of government. As cases questioning natural born citizenship were rejected for hearing by the court using the "rule of nine", which included the two new justices who would have lost their lifetime positions had it been heard and Minor v. Happersett not overturned. Even with precedent and fairly recent cases confirming both the postive and common law, it was clear that Roberts was voting with the block on the left not to hear the case. It was not about birth certificates. It was about Chief Justice Morrison Waite's decision with all nine justices concurring:
“The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that.At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners.”
Roberts’ behavior was fully consistent with his first action, administering the oath to a candidate when every US Senator had signed agreement to the understanding stated in the April 2008 Senate Resolution 511:
“My assumption and my understanding is that if you are born of American parents, you are naturally a natural-born American citizen,” Chertoff replied. “That is mine, too,” said Leahy.”
Roberts could have overseen a reinterpretation of the Article II Section 1, but it would have to be retroactive, since there is no doubt about what C.J. Waite told us, nor what C.J. John Marshall or James Madison or 14th Amendment author John Bingham or C.J. Charles Evans Hughes. Roberts was probably always a secret progressive. Yes, Harriet Meiers would probably have been a better choice.
