I was not going to vote for Romney. I was adamant against him. I’m voting for him now. The tea is in the harbor. There’s no turning back now. It’s 1774 again and we’ve just been handed the intolerable acts.

I’m going to vote my conscience and do everything I can to get the down ballot candidates elected. I will hold my nose for RomneyCare.

Third-party voters will “teach the GOP a lesson.”

I did not vote for Romney in the Florida Primaries. But the bottom line in my book, Mitt Romney won fair and square the GOP nomination. Is he has conservative as I would like? No.

At this point any warm body is better than Obama. Its going to be Mitt vs Barack and if you vote for a 3rd person or do a write in, you are really just giving a vote for Obama.

Rassmussen is correct, I am over the top livid over the Supreme Court decision. The only minor sign of a silver lininng is the fact we can now at least call ObamaCare what it really is OBAMATAX.

I would craw over a mile on broken glass in 100 degree heat to get to the polls in November. I cannot wait to vote. I am dying to do my part to get this joker out of the White House.

Running_dog, my conscience wanted another choice as well, but our main priority MUST be to get 0bama out of office. I will vote Romney if that is the best way to get 0bama out. Romney may be far from perfect, but we need to get the destroyer out of the Oval Office.

Get as many conservatives in the House and Senate and we can begin to turn the ship around, but it will take some time after all the damage 0bama has done.

"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed, if so celestial an article as Freedom should not be highly rated."

Thomas Paine

Godspeed, my friend.

Well put.

I am in the latter category. Will NOT pull a lever for Romney. But I appreciate the recognition that this is a decision of conscience - as is yours.

As much as I hate to even think this, a vote for a third party will be a vote for "O-Say-Can-You-Say-SOCIALIST"

I posted this on another thread and it speaks to the Washingtonian problem.

No solutions to problems will ever come from DC, because DC is the problem.

All each election cycle is about is which bunch of degenerate crooks, cowards, con men, and liars gets to control and redistribute the money extorted by the IRS from us chumps outside the beltway, and how much of it.

It’s plain to see what is going on in DC to anyone who has ever spent any time there.

The place is perpetually flush with cash extorted from the little guys paycheck on a scale that would outrage the Mafia.

Hundreds of thousands of Federal Apparatchiks with big smiles on their faces walk around drawing huge salaries, plus bonuses and pensions, courtesy of us dolts in the hinterland.

What has the GOP ever done when they controlled the WH and Congress that materially changed anything, or made the Federal Bureaucracy smaller?

We still have the agencies like IRS, the Department of Energy, and Education, and EPA, and to boot, they established new ones like DHS and TSA.

Anyone who tries to starve the beast is politically assassinated by propagandists from the left and right, like Gingrich was over the Government shutdown at the end of his career in Congress and again a few months ago when he tried for the nomination.

There will be nothing coming out of DC other than a bigger hand in your pocket and more limits on your freedom.

The DC problem will not be solved politically.

The FOUNDERS had no intention of establishing Universal Suffrage and DELIBERATELY did not put a right to vote in the Constitution because they knew it would lead to the collapse before us today, and make no mistake about it, when the Social Security checks stop coming, there will be a collapse.

Universal Suffrage has been enacted via Constitutional Amendments, hell, the communists are even giving illegal aliens the vote by Executive Order.

Collapse and reset are the only way out of this now, and rotating the Capital amongst the States.

There is no greater threat to the freedom and prosperity of the American Citizenry than the Federal Apparatus in Washington DC, and anyone who thinks all we have to do to change things is send the “right” people there hasn’t looked at the situation from a logical perspective at best, or at worst, is self delusional.

Electing more Republicans will solve the problem, now that’s a hoot!!

I’m going to vote my conscience and stay home. You want more illegals here? You want socialized medicine here? you want the “doctrine of preemption” for the Chinese and Iranians? Go ahead and vote for the SOB.

If that 3rd party they vote for does not have enough US ballot access in 2012 on a state by state basis, to insure its candidate has a potential to even garner, theoretically, 270 electoral votes, then it is a throw away vote because he no she would never be elected since we do not have direct election of a President under our system (and I myself in the past have agreed that the 3rd party option should be there to put the pressure on RINOs). Still having said that, it is no different than studying market penetration by competitive products in business. Can you imagine one of the Conservative third parties reaching at least 34% of the vote (in a three way race) in EACH of the states that they would be required to snag 270 electoral votes? Impossible. In fact, in some states the highest they might get is 1 or 2%. The 2012 November cards have been dealt I don't like them but they are the cards. In fact I could spit to the sidewalk about them. But it wont change a damned thing. If you could sit down with High and Mighty Emperor Obongo himself and ask what you should do (telling him to completely forget a vote for him), he would advise you as a Conservative and a Patriot to do one of two things. He would say "OK then, see if I care, stay home then this Election Day", or he would offer "Fine, jackass, go vote for one of your Conservative third parties." I would do nothing that the Emperor insisted I do. At least that is the very painful analysis I am afraid I have come do and I have to deal with reality.

Someone like Virgil Goode, if the perfect storm hit, could have a legitimate chance to win the Presidency in 2012, just as Ross Perot did in 1992, before he dropped out and then re-entered the race at the 11th hour.

It would be nice to see Goode gain some traction at some point during this campaign season. He could possibly siphon votes from the weak Presidential candidates in both major parties, or at least influence the debate on several important issues.
