There have been all kinds of opinions on Mitt Romney's handling of Monday's Supreme Court ruling over SB 1070, but I'm having a hard time imagining any of his supporters are going to take too much umbrage with this one. It's really just that simple: We have got to get rid of President Obama.
Romney added: "Obamacare was bad policy yesterday. It's bad policy today. Obamacare was bad law yesterday. It's bad law today."
This presidential election is "a choice," Romney said. "You can choose whether you want to have a larger and larger government, more and more intrusive in your life, separating you and your doctor, whether you're comfortable with more deficits, higher debt that we will pass onto the coming generations. [Or] whether you're willing to have the government put in place a plan that potentially causes you to lose the insurance that you like or whether instead you want to return to a time when the American people will have their own choice in health care, where consumers will be able to make share choices as to what kind of health insurance they want."
“This is the time of choice for the American people,” Romney said.
Romney concluded: “Help us. Help us defeat Obamacare. Help us defeat the liberal agenda that makes government too big, too intrusive and is killing jobs across this great country.”
Yep, that pretty much sums it up. As Ed noted earlier, donations to Mitt Romney’s campaign exploded in the hour following the Supreme Court’s announcement on the individual mandate — and seeing as how the majority of Americans have made it clear that they are most definitively not okay with the idea of the individual mandate, regardless of whether it’s a tax or falls under the commerce clause or what have you, I think this is only going to continue to help his campaign.
Romney: “If we want to get rid of Romney care, we must get rid of Romney.” Oooops. Didn’t work.
I am energized as never before to vote Obama out.
Romney is blowing smoke. It will never happen now. Romneycare=obammacare. plain and simple.
Here is where I am at...
I KNOW Obama won’t do anything about obamacare...
I THINK Romney will.
Therefore.. I am moving off my hell no I won’t vote for Romeny stand to.
“I’ll vote for him, but I am not in the mood to support him” stand.
We HAVE to vote Obama out. For the first time in my life, this morning when I turned on the TV, I saw America die..I actually felt the life of it being sucked out. I dont like Ronney, dont know if I will ever like him, but we NEED to get Obama out because we still have a small chance to save this country, if Obama wins, this country is officially done
I HOPE Romney will. At this point, he is our last hope. We've gotta back the horse we've got in this race.
Romney is correct but what a weak link to rely on! Of course the RATS pushed this Grandfather of Obama-care on us from the beginning. I’m sick and tired of the enemy getting to pick our guys for us! AND I DO MEAN THE ENEMY. I’m so angry I could chew metal in half about now!
Heh. Funny. People think the weasel will save them from the wolf.
Romney will milk this decision to try to get elected, but he would never get rid of Obamacare. it would be like saying Romenycare was a bad thing.
Doesn’t matter who wins now, Obamacare is here to stay.
Don’t be fooled by Romney’s sweet siren song ... he is as much full of you-know-what as Obama. Just leave it blank at the top of the ticket this November.
Gotta hand it to them for being so gutsy and in your face with their coup.
Too bad no one notices and really appreciates such lack of subtlety any more...
Help us, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're our only hope.
I am hearing people say that Obamacare is letting your children stay on your insurance until 27, letting you continuing having insurance if you get a pre-exsisting condition and let’s you stay on the insurance even if you get sick and cannot drop you. People SERIOUSLY believe this is what Obamacare is all about.
One thing I am confused about on the ruling. The SC said Arizona could not racially profile individuals. Saying it’s unconstitutional. Does that mean ICE can no longer racially profile? Because that is how they determine your legality. Has the SC “handcuffed” ICE so they cannot do their job also? In California today, ICE can stop commuter buses, trains, cars, vans, raid houses and businesses based on racially profiling. Does this make it illegal for them to do it now?
Exactly. I grasped at every straw there was during the primary and even sent in donations, which I never do during primaries, to have someone besides Romney nominated. However he still got it, so the choice is left as Obama vs. Romney. While the latter is certainly no prize, the former is infinitely worse.
I know there’s plenty around here who think there is some mythical other option, or that Romney is even close to as bad as Obama. That is simply delusional.
A lot of you guys complained when McCain was the nominee. Maybe he wouldn’t have done a great job as president, but it’s fairly certain he wouldn’t have passed this monstrosity.
With Romney, there’s a good chance this thing can be repealed. With Obama, there’s no chance.
those other entitlement programs weren’t repealed because the majoity of the country liked them, Obamacare doesn’t have that luxury
Obama has not been able to get a majority to like this bill in 3 1/2 years. Do you think he is going to pull that off in the next four months? SCOTUS just tied an anvil around his neck and shoved him off the dock.
Is it me or did he sound kind of half-hearted? There just didn’t seem to be any fire in the belly over this.
