My daughter, her husband, and their dog are among the 32,000. Pray for all the evacuees.

The pictures of home burning on the edge of Colorado Springs that they are showing on the weather channel are terrible.

Yes. The fire is stretched out for what looks like a mile or more and it looks like it’s coming down into neighborhoods.

I have a lot of relatives and friends in the Springs. My sister posted a picture on facebook of the fire from the Citadel Mall and it was scary. My niece, who lives on the West side of 25 has been evacuated. My sister said there is ash everywhere and everything smells like smoke. Close friends live near the zoo/Cheyenne mt and I'm really concerned about them. I'm there 3 to 4 times a year, and it's so sad to see what is happening. I wish I knew how to post pictures on here. The picture of the fire from the mall is so scary.

I’m so screwed-arriving in Colorado Springs for vacation July 8. Oh, well-as long as The Loop is serving those Grande Margaritas, I’ll be OK!
Prayers for everyone there. I have very fond memories of my last visit to CS.

This is so sad. So many families affected because of this horrible arson. These fires are all arson.

I haven’t heard anything about the zoo. However, one of the evacuation sites is a Cheyenne Mtn school, so I would think that area is okay

If the Waldo Canyon fire has come this far down hill and east with the southeast winds caused by outflow boundaries from isolated and largely dry storm cells , what in hell has happened to Woodland Park?

“what in hell has happened to Woodland Park?”

prevailing wind has kept it at the mouth of ute pass and north of hwy 24
As I understand the plan, if it gets into the pass, they are not going to try and stop it in the pass - i.e green mountain falls, cascade etc will be sacrificed.
they will try and block east / south of woodland park
