Why President Obama Will Lose in a Landslide
Godfather Politics ^ | June 20, 2012 | The Godfather & Wayne Allen Root

Posted on 06/24/2012 4:43:48 AM PDT by pistolpackinpapa

Wayne Allan Root is a former Libertarian Vice-Presidential nominee and a Las Vegas oddsmaker. Root states up front that he won’t vote for either Obama or Romney. Being a Libertarian, his first choice is Ron Paul, but since Paul is not running as a third-party candidate, Root’s going to vote for Libertarian Presidential candidate Gary Johnson. Even so, Root thinks Romney will win in a landslide.

He presents some interesting historical facts that he says point to “a resounding Romney victory.” In 1980, Root points out, “Reagan was losing by 9 points to Carter. Romney is right now running even in polls.” Root offers the following on popular voting blocks to back up his landslide claim:

1. Black voters. Obama has nowhere to go but down among this group. His endorsement of gay marriage has alienated many black church-going Christians. He may get 88% of their vote instead of the 96% he got in 2008. This is not good news for Obama.

2. Hispanic voters. Obama has nowhere to go but down among this group. If Romney picks Rubio as his VP running-mate the GOP may pick up an extra 10% to 15% of Hispanic voters (plus lock down Florida). This is not good news for Obama. [Editor's Note: Obama’s latest immigration ploy could affect the Hispanic vote. How Romney responds will make a difference.]

3. Jewish voters. Obama has been weak in his support of Israel. Many Jewish voters and big donors are angry and disappointed. I predict Obama’s Jewish support drops from 78% in 2008 to the low 60s. This is not good news for Obama.

4. Youth voters. Obama’s biggest and most enthusiastic believers from 4 years ago have graduated into a job market from hell. Young people are disillusioned, frightened, and broke — a bad combination. The enthusiasm is long gone. Turnout will be much lower among young voters, as will actual voting percentages. This not good news for Obama.

5. Catholic voters. Obama won a majority of Catholics in 2008. That won’t happen again. Out of desperation to please women, Obama went to war with the Catholic Church over contraception. Now he is being sued by the Catholic Church. Majority lost. This is not good news for Obama.

6. Small Business owners. Because I ran for Vice President last time around, and I’m a small businessman myself, I know literally thousands of small business owners. At least 40% of them in my circle of friends, fans and supporters voted for Obama 4 years ago to “give someone different a chance.” I warned them that he would pursue a war on capitalism and demonize anyone who owned a business…that he’d support unions over the private sector in a big way…that he’d overwhelm the economy with spending and debt. My friends didn’t listen. Four years later, I can’t find one person in my circle of small business owner friends voting for Obama. Not one. This is not good news for Obama.

7. Blue collar working class whites. Do I need to say a thing? White working class voters are about as happy with Obama as Boston Red Sox fans feel about the New York Yankees. This is not good news for Obama.

8. Suburban moms. The issue isn’t contraception; it’s having a job to pay for contraception. Obama’s economy frightens these moms. They are worried about putting food on the table. They fear for their children’s future. This is not good news for Obama.

9. Military Veterans. McCain won this group by 10 points. Romney is winning by 24 points. The more our military vets got to see of Obama, the more they disliked him. This is not good news for Obama.

Add it up. Is there one major group where Obama has gained since 2008? Will anyone in America wake up on election-day saying “I didn’t vote for Obama 4 years ago, but he’s done such a fantastic job. I can’t wait to vote for him today”? Does anyone feel that a vote for Obama makes their job more secure?

Forget the polls. My gut instincts as a Vegas oddsmaker and common sense small businessman tell me this will be a historic landslide and a world-class repudiation of Obama’s radical and risky socialist agenda. It’s Reagan-Carter all over again.

But I’ll give Obama credit for one thing — he is living proof that familiarity breeds contempt.

the Democrat Party could possibly cease to be a national party because of all the crap coming down the pike.

I doubt that. When LBJ trounced Goldwater in ‘64, everyone said that was the demise of the GOP. After ‘08, James Carville predicted the end of the Republican party for decades. These predictions never come to pass. I wish this one would; however. But, it won’t.

Your post (thus-far) makes the most sense to me. Am praying this ship will stop sinking, and am growing tired of bailing water. It may be as said, the game has been decided already. Sometimes the answer to our prayers comes in a message from God to test us further. Man is not capable. Sometimes God makes that clear to us by His answer to our prayers. Not knowing the future, while sensing disaster is sometimes when God comes to hold all of us above the fires of hell. These are most definitely those times when God may or may not hold us in His Hand. In praise of our Lord. Amen.

Yes, Romney will get a Convention “bump”. That has not come into play yet in the polls. I think during his Acceptance Speech he should warn America: “Do not be surprised at what the opposition will try to pull off before Election Day to maintain their power; expect it. If it doesn’t happen, America is better off. If it does happen, you’ve been warned.”

January 29th, 1980, Louis Harris poll showed President Carter’s margin over Ronald Reagan in a post-Iowa trial heat had risen to an overwhelming 65-31 percent. Reagan went on to carry 44 States. Olooser is nowhere as close to having that kind of base support. Trying to be all things to all people, will end up with you being nothing to nobody!

With so many Americans being distracted today by the Internet and cable television, they are too dumbed down to make an informative choice

Uh..... aren’t we on the Internet right now? Are we “dumbed down”? Let’s use the Internet to our advantage to defeat Obama.

That one's easy...

Their vote was a rebellion against daddy (and husband), represented by white-haird, grumpy McCain. BO represented the 'bad boy' they wanted to bring home in college but didn't.

Same thing with the young white vote...a rebellion against daddy.

I think about the lame duck period. Obama’s not going to lose without making sure that we do too.

Me too. IMHO, when nobama loses, there's gonna be hell to pay during the lame duck. Pubbies, grow some cojones and get ready. The EOs will be thick as files.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that political calculus prevailed in Romney’s selection of a VP. However, I believe that a diversity pick would be a mistake. Given the state of things and Obozo’s bumbling, this will be a competence election and Romney’s selection should reflect that w/o regard to color or “equipment”.

Reagan was losing until the weekend before the election....it was easier to rig the polls back then..no Internet...the press did everything to paint Reagan as a extremist and just an actor

Best diversity move for Romney in my opinion would be to choose a conservative.

Zero has severe psychological problems NOW. He is a narcissist—he has a pathological need to have people love and adore him.

Let;s have a look at the “seven deadly sins of Narciccism—and se ehow many O-Vomit suffers from...and my observations after each one.

Hotchkiss’ seven deadly sins of narcissismHotchkiss identified what she called the seven deadly sins of narcissism:[6]

1.Shamelessness: Shame is the feeling that lurks beneath all unhealthy narcissism, and the inability to process shame in healthy ways.

Has the messiah admitted he was wrong? Even after the denocratic shipwreck of 2010, where his facial expression at that press conference said far more than the words he was reading from the prompter, it was all someone else’s fault. The American people were duped; they weren’t smart enough to understand what he was doing....

2.Magical thinking: Narcissists see themselves as perfect, using distortion and illusion known as magical thinking. They also use projection to dump shame onto others.

Again, he never has a bad idea. Everything will work otu fine if we just give him everything he wants.

3.Arrogance: A narcissist who is feeling deflated may reinflate by diminishing, debasing, or degrading somebody else.

Meeting with GOP leaders days after his coronation in 2009: “I won. You lost.” ‘Nuf said.

4.Envy: A narcissist may secure a sense of superiority in the face of another person’s ability by using contempt to minimize the other person.

5.Entitlement: Narcissists hold unreasonable expectations of particularly favorable treatment and automatic compliance because they consider themselves special. Failure to comply is considered an attack on their superiority, and the perpetrator is considered an “awkward” or “difficult” person. Defiance of their will is a narcissistic injury that can trigger narcissistic rage.

His unending use of race to demonize anyone who opposes him.

6.Exploitation: Can take many forms but always involves the exploitation of others without regard for their feelings or interests. Often the other is in a subservient position where resistance would be difficult or even impossible. Sometimes the subservience is not so much real as assumed.

Riding into glory on others’ misery. he could be the schedenfreude president.

7.Bad boundaries: Narcissists do not recognize that they have boundaries and that others are separate and are not extensions of themselves. Others either exist to meet their needs or may as well not exist at all. Those who provide narcissistic supply to the narcissist are treated as if they are part of the narcissist and are expected to live up to those expectations. In the mind of a narcissist there is no boundary between self and other.

Zero’s attempt to chide the Supreme court, end-run around congress through czars and executive orders kind of wraps this one up nicely.

That is exactly my feeling. Romney does not have the balls to do the job that needs to be done. But he is a perfect fall guy for the damage that has been done and will be found after the election.
