I wouldn’t be surprised if that political calculus prevailed in Romney’s selection of a VP. However, I believe that a diversity pick would be a mistake. Given the state of things and Obozo’s bumbling, this will be a competence election and Romney’s selection should reflect that w/o regard to color or “equipment”.

Reagan was losing until the weekend before the election....it was easier to rig the polls back then..no Internet...the press did everything to paint Reagan as a extremist and just an actor

The problem is, is that Romney comes off as, well, rather “square” that is, a very Conservative look and feel about him - at least, that is the projection. For a very diverse America, Romney “looks” like a door to door “Jehovah’s Witness” salesman and that is too white starched shirt for today's electorate. That is all I am saying. He's too white Wonderbread for people now accustomed to Obamawreck.
