In a new forecast, the National Weather Service is predicting a continuing drought for the Midwest. The drought is being felt from eastern Nebraska through Iowa and Missouri and affects Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. As the drought continues, expectations of high yields are dropping. Could Tropical storm Debbie be on the verge of dampening these dire drought predictions? Maybe.

Man, you scared me. I thought this was something about Debbie Washerwoman-Shitz!
LOL..I’m not sure what class of “storm” I’d put her in!?!
Me too!
I have never seen the corn look so stunted in SE WI until this year.
And most of it goes to ethanol now.
Gas prices and feed prices will both be affected. The hay looks ok.
I live in Michigan, and it’s been terrible. Finally got some a couple days ago, but we’re way, way behind where we should be. A few years ago we could count on some decent rain in April and May, even though the rest of the summer and fall and winter would be bone dry. Now even the April and May rains have disappeared. It’s horrible.
OMG. It’s global warming. We’re all gonna die.
(just kidding)
Not trying to pimp a website, but I find this site to be an all in one for me.
Well, I've heard she "Did Dallas", so maybe ;) (Sorry, couldn't help myself.)
Debbie does Des Moines. All kidding aside we could use some moisture here too in Colorado. Things are getting pretty extreme.
“LOL..Im not sure what class of storm Id put her in!?!”
Well, there are maelstroms, so maybe a mayostrom?
(I was struck with the same fear)
If we could build a long chute from the NE corner of the state, we could pour you a whole bunch.
Heck, the other day, I think I emptied enough just out of my shoes to water a county or two.
Heh, I wish you could. Our yard is yellow, normally we don’t get that until mid July/August.
I’m glad I don’t own horses anymore, I couldn’t afford to feed them. Heck, it costs us a fortune to fill our tanks and I always get annoyed when I drive by a corn field knowing that much of us is going into may gas tank.
There used to be big potato farms around here, but now it’s all in corn, except when they rotate with beans.
Alcohol, alcohol everywhere, nor any drop to drink.
That stuff will kill you lol. I see less hay fields and soy bean fields every year. It's all corn now. They don't even bother to rotate anymore and corn sucks up nutrients from the soil like crazy. Lots of grazing land has gone to corn too. Haven't seen wheat or oats planted here in years. This sucks.
Midwest drought ping!
probably a hormone storm would fit.
As of now, the models have her going due west to Texas but that is actually good news as most of these systems hook to the northwest and then come across the Midwest. Here's hoping.
Here in Texas, we hope both for the rain and the cooling off.
LOL, that was the first thing my mind saw...”Debbie Does Drought”
