Man, I hope it does blow up some rain for the Midwest..it's going to start getting serious in another month or so if it stays this dry here.

I have never seen the corn look so stunted in SE WI until this year.
And most of it goes to ethanol now.
Gas prices and feed prices will both be affected. The hay looks ok.

I live in Michigan, and it’s been terrible. Finally got some a couple days ago, but we’re way, way behind where we should be. A few years ago we could count on some decent rain in April and May, even though the rest of the summer and fall and winter would be bone dry. Now even the April and May rains have disappeared. It’s horrible.

OMG. It’s global warming. We’re all gonna die.
(just kidding)

Can Debbie Douse Drought in Midwest?Well, I've heard she "Did Dallas", so maybe ;) (Sorry, couldn't help myself.)
To: stillafreemind
Debbie does Des Moines. All kidding aside we could use some moisture here too in Colorado. Things are getting pretty extreme.

As of now, the models have her going due west to Texas but that is actually good news as most of these systems hook to the northwest and then come across the Midwest. Here's hoping.
Here in Texas, we hope both for the rain and the cooling off.

If Debbie doesn’t deliver, Debbie will be a downer.
To: stillafreemind
It’s already serious, imho. It would be a blessing if Debbie gave the west and midwest some rain.

We’ve got about ten inches of rain we got on Tuesday night that you can just have. Free of charge.

Dear Lord, no! The last time we had a dry stretch relieved by a Tropical Storm was when Erin got stuck here in August, 2007. This was what my town looked like after the rain stopped:
We picked up nearly 13" of rain in three days. Awful!

They say that heavy rainfalls in drought-stricken areas have been known to cause flash-floods, crop damage and cancer...in fact, I once had a miscarriage driving through Iowa in the pouring rain...
