Today the court is handing down decisions, possibly in the Arizona Immigration Law case.
Make your Prediction on:
1. Az Immigration law 2a. Heathcare Mandate 2b. Heathcare Servability 3. Stolen Valor Act
“Kagan had to recuse herself since she helped the administration fight S.B 1070 as Solicitor General prior to her nomination”
And, of course, was up to her fat eyeballs on ObummerCare as Solicitor General but refused to recuse on that one. And the spineless Republicans would not make an issue of it.
Actually, AZ argues their law mirrors federal law. That’s their strong basis.
If the court agrees and upholds, it doesn’t settle the question of Obama’s order, it seems to me, but throws everything up against the wall.
AZ tries to help enforce the law AS WRITTEN by Congress.
Now Obama jumps up and claims the executive can enforce the law any old way he wants to for an Obama-desired outcome.
That means AZ and Obama would be trying to enforce two different laws, but which one is the TRUE federal law...as written, or with Obama enforcement changes?????
I don’t think that settles. It MUDDLES.
Steve King from Iowa says he will sue the administration in federal court to stop them from doing this.
I’m laying aside the heavy mantel of skepticism to predict the Supreme Court just might begin to turn this nation around today, at least with the Arizona Immigration Act and with Obama care.
I would guess they still have to defeat the Stolen Valor Act because of the First Amendment.
Still, Obama is about to have a terrible, no good, very bad day.

Steve King from Iowa said he is filing a lawsuit in federal court to stop Obama.
I think we win all of these cases unanimously because politics has nothing to do with it and the law is clear..
Ha HA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH lol
What if AZ continues with the law as written...ie, their law mirrors federal law as written, while O claims he can change the law at his whim? And if AZ can, so can other states who might so choose.
I happen to think states are key in this and in the healthcare.
They need to push back. They are in the best position to challenge.
As for Congress, don’t know about the rest of ‘em but Steve King says he’s filing suit against O in federal court, just like he filed in state court against Vilsack in Iowa when he tried to change Iowa law by fiat.
How did that suit turn out?
And what will you say if you are wrong on any one of your total doomsday predictions?
Heh - his "stealth" attributes were mighty weak. Followed and tracked his daddy's "New World Order" vision and admission rather tightly.
The Iowa Supremes sided with King.
Intrade has the Individual Mandate going down at a 76% chance.
I’ll take that.
If it goes down I can’t see the law surviving with or without the court’s approval.
IF the Az law is upheld, that will, hopefully, open the flood-gates for other states to follow suit.
Salute!
The chattering classes seem oddly quiet this morning; did a little birdy tell them the Obamacare and Arizona decisions won’t come until next week?
A note: the ACA Litigation Blog, apparently respected in legal circles (I know, not saying much) thinks the Obamacare decision will not be rendered until at least next Monday.
Did he invade Iraq and Afghanistan for the New World Order and his “daddy”?
Why didn’t he sit back and let the U.N. decide? He did go to the U.N. about it but led THEM and was not led BY them. He made clear the authorization he sought was from Congress. Compare that to what we have now.
BTW, this thread isn’t about Bush is it?
But since you try to make it so, as in my examples above, it’s barely possible he did other things that we either agree or disagree with but because he believed they were the correct choice at the time, not because they were “NWO” and “daddy”.
His book Decision Points explains his reasoning behind major decisions, or, why he called ‘em as he saw ‘em.
According to you, his book should have been entitled, Why the New World Order and Daddy MADE ME DO EVERYTHING.
Balderdash.
No, it's not.
A judge or justice has a duty to recuse him/herself if there is a conflict of interest as in this case where Kagan was this Administration’s Solicitor General when the suit vs. AZ began. You wouldn’t want a judge deciding on a case s/he started, would you?
I think the AZ decision comes down today but they will hold on the O’Care till the last Monday of the term. Add to the drama. I would imagine writing the opinion(s) will be very time consuming.
In the health care thing, Roberts is also a potential problem because he has a reputation of being loath to overrule the legislature.
